Quoting: PhlebiacNot sure why 1.10.0 was skipped, but 1.10.2 is already out.
Was my mistake when setting up the Release candidate. I used 1.10.0 for it instead of using an RC on the version name.

Then 1.10 started on 1.10.1 and then I released a fix for it already.

NVIDIA Vulkan Beta Driver 470.62.05 rolls out for Linux

Quoting: fearnflavioHave someone tested it to check if it fixes the Gsync/Freesync issue that the stable driver has?
Did the Vulkan beta have this issue to begin with?

On the nvidia forums it was mentioned that the fix will be in the next release, but it may just be the stable driver.

I'm still not sure if gsync is actually affected since all reports seem to have come from freesync (gsync compatible) users.
Yes, I have a Freesync compatible monitor.
The issue was with the stable driver, which fixed the memory leak when using vkd3d. But for me, the freensync was more important. So I reverted back to the old Vulkan Driver. And for all vkd3d games I have, only on Assassins creed Valhalla I noticed the memory leak, on Cyberpunk, Death Stranding, Mortal Shell, Control, I do not have it.

But still, using nvidia-tkg I cannot find this new version to download. The latest is 470.62.02.

Edit: Just saw this on the Stable release post on their forums: The new 470.62.05 vulkan dev drivers released yesterday are also impacted by this.

So... no, it's not fixed.

Quoting: ShmerlI guess it improved then? I remember vkd3d-proton developers saying it's not going to happen soon.

I get around 80 fps with max settings and 2560 x 1440 with RX 6800 XT so that works well without upscaling.
Yes. It did, in some games the performance with VKD3d is better than with DXVK for me, for instance with Mortal Shell. With DXVK I need to put the shadows on low otherwise in some places I get less than 30 fps, some weird bug. With VKD3D I get 75fps all the time on all areas with just a few slowdowns, playing at 3440x1440 with everything on ultra.

Cyberpunk with DLSS on Performance and everything on ultra I get around 50 to 60 fps at this resolution.
Without DLSS something around 30fps.

Quoting: ShmerlPlus from what I was reading about Linux gaming specifically, in some workloads Nvidia is just worse due to some of their driver deficiencies, like with vkd3d-proton especially. So I don't regret getting 6800 XT since at least currently I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077.
This was quite true some time ago but right now, especially with Ampere, the performance is really close to windows. I'm playing cyberpunk again, started last year with a 2060, and the performance was basically 70% when compared to windows. Now I've moved to a 3060ti and tested again and when compared to windows I'm losing around 5 to 10% only. And we also have DLSS working with Cyberpunk, I'm not really sure how Lutris team did it, but DLSS is working perfectly on this game. :)

Thanks for posting, Liam. It's not a big release but this issue with the login is critical since the older versions won't work anymore.

NVIDIA release a new Vulkan Beta Driver with 470.56.05

I noticed some issues with a few games where my ram starts being eaten until my whole system crashes. I thought it was only me. I'll. Try a different version to see if this happens.
Same for me. I got it to work again by disabling async reprojection by setting enableLinuxVulkanAsync to false in ~/.steam/steam/config/steamvr.vrsettings (close SteamVR first).
This fixes the memory leak problem?
I don't have this file, how can I add this setting? it's a JSON format or just add
enableLinuxVulkanAsync=false
?

That's great!
I just expect this also fixes the overclock feature. Even using coolbits=12 on my settings, on the Beta driver, I wasn't being able to overclock my card.

Quoting: TimGreat. Also mentioned in changelog: support for Nvidia DLSS. Would be interesting to hear some feedback or to see test/benchmarks.
I'm playing Doom Eternal right now and the DLSS is making some difference to me.
On my RTX2060 at the Nightmare Preset and 3440x1440@75Hz, without DLSS I get around ~60fps, with DLSS on Quality, something around 70FPS and I can get 75FPS with the Balanced Preset.
I still haven't tested without Vsync but for me, the experience is nice so far.
I tried Raytracing as well. It's working good but my card wasn't made for that at least not at this resolution.
Even with the preset on Medium and DLSS on Performance, I can get 35FPS max with RT enabled. But at least the effect is working really well.
