Steam Client Beta adds a new launch option for Big Picture Mode

Quoting: michaldybczakI'm confused. It doesn't work. I already use:

prime-run steam

in a launcher. So where do I put those arguments? I thought that the proper place would be at the end, but it doesn't make any difference (I am running Steam beta). So I tried it before steam, also no change. Before prime-run? That would make no sense, or maybe? I checked and... again no change...
Maybe this?
prime-run "steam -newbigpicture"

Fixed issue where Steam would be unable to connect in some cases after suspend/resume
That's my main happiness point with it! Often losing WiFi contact when resuming.

Surprising probably no one, most people use the Steam Deck as a handheld

Quoting: HohlraumOne metric I'd be curious about is how many people aren't using the SD controls themselves and instead opt for an external controller. I have hundreds of hours on my SD now and I'll bet I've spent less than 3 hrs total actually holding the thing. I would be perfectly happy if a tablet FF SD was released that relied entirely on external (or detachable) controls.
I own a Steam Controller, but didn't even try to connect it as I'm fully happy with the built-in controls.

Mind that your audience is special: Most of them already own a Linux gaming PC. I'm not saying that the result would be hugely different otherwise, but it might play a role in the outcome.

I wouldn't buy an adventure game in early access. Or at least, I wouldn't play it. (I made one exception for developers living in the Ukraine where I bought the game early on.) When I start such a game, I want to experience the full story.

Quoting: KlaasFrom the user perspective: What's the benefit of only having Vulkan instead of Vulkan and OpenGL? Is it a “please give us less options” thing?
I don't think there's a (direct) user benefit, you could always use Vulkan by choice. But the developers benefit, not having to care for both APIs, might help them concentrate on other user benefits.

These were the most popular Steam Deck games for October 2022

Quoting: PhiladelphusI'm (happily) surprised to see Potionomics is fifth by daily average user count. It certainly works fine on the Deck, I just wish they'd add actual controller controls.
No useful user control schemes available?

Quoting: Purple Library Guy(Biden does sometimes outright lie, but it's usually something the media has already popularized, the kind of lie you can't question without being unpatriotic, like "The United States has the best (X) on earth" or "US intentions in 'international leadership' are benevolent" or such like)
I think he said the world envies the US for its great election system, which, well, the world does not. :)

Quoting: FifteenthPenA Short Hike! A short, but very fun and memorable game that captures the magic of being a kid spending a day in a nice wilderness park with lots of fun stuff to see/do and interesting people to talk to.
I had fun with it, and now (today even) my children like to play with it.
Some flying around, some fishing, some motorboat driving... :)
