The latest Godot Engine showreel is an impressive look at upcoming games

Nice showcasing for sure!

There's some games I would have assigned to RPG maker.
Does somebody knows how Godot compares to it?
(I'm not making such games, just being curious.)

Quoting: damarrinEvery time I formatted an SD card on the SD it would fail the first time and succeed the second. No problems with performance, though.
I had no problems either, until recently.
I got my card now and formatted it with the Steam Deck stable software as of yesterday. I measured (modern) Tomb Raider, from start button to the main menu coming up. Mind I have the smallest Steam Deck, so it's probably not quite as fast as the others in the first place. Result: 23-24 seconds on first run, 21-22 seconds on subsequent runs - no matter the storage place. So, I'm happy with my SD card and I'm happy with Steam's formatter. And I'm happy with my steam Deck. :)

Steam Deck Beta updates fix Red Dead Redemption 2 and external screen changes

Quoting: GeeksOnHugsHow long does it usually take to go from the beta channel to the stable channel? I've been hoping and waiting for an RDR2 fix for several weeks but I prefer to stay on the stable channel. I don't mind waiting as I'm just glad to know a fix is coming but I'm wondering how long I'll most likely be waiting.
Weeks to a day... Sometimes it's quick. :D

Classic adventure game. Art and style I very much associate with Broken Sword, the Voodoo story-line with Gabriel Knight 1 so it ticks all the boxes!
If you want some point and click voodoo treat, take a look at Voodoo Detective. The graphical style was not really to my taste, but it were enjoyble five hours...

SteamOS and Steam Deck on top for Linux in the Steam Hardware Survey

Quoting: no_information_hereAs I have been complaining forever, Valve could easily take the data from live Steam client connections. They really have daily information of the base OS for every single user. It wouldn't have the hardware detail, but the OS statistics would be a 100% sample of logged-in users. Not sure why they don't.
Valve know what OS each customer is using. Sharing that information with third parties without specific consent is a privacy violation.
I don't think sharing something like "2,295,123 of our 165 million users are using Linux" could trigger any privacy concern.

Speak for yourself.
I showed the numbers. Got different ones?

(Obviously, there might be a handful of individuals that do install Windows on Steam Deck. These will not show up in my numbers as their count is insignificant. I expect everybody reading here to understand that without mentioning.)

Nobody's installing Windows on the Steam Deck.

As far as I know, the Steam Deck and only the Steam Deck has got the "AMD Custom GPU 0405". This comes up in the general GPU list with 0.21% of all systems. Linux is installed on 1.23% of all systems, and when filtering by Linux, we can see that 17.07% of the Linux installations are using said GPU. And guess what 1.23% * 17.07% is? Right, 0.21%.

Quoting: GuestValve needs to fix their SD card formatting tool. When I format a SD card with it, game downloads are incredibily slow and drop out. I thought that my Steam Deck was broken. Formatting on a Linux desktop solved the issue.
Thanks for pointing out, I still need to get and prepare one. Did you find out what's wrong? Suboptimal file system or something?
I don't know, it formats as ext4. I used the same filesystem when formatting it on my Linux PC and it worked unlike with the Steam Deck formatting tool.
I just ordered a card (256 GB for my "little" Steam Deck). Will check if I meet the same problem.
