Can someone tell me why I should bother with an inferior, more buggy version of games?
Of course you shouldn't. But equating ports to buggy software is nothing else but FUD.

I could name you some hundred native Linux games working all fine from my library alone. (No, I will not actually test hundreds of games for you, but I would have returned them if they wouldn't have been working.)

We used to have a time when Windows users complained about Linux ports. Nowadays, this job has been taken by Linux users.

Can we just get to the point and have Nintendo try to patent the concept of video games, money, and having a soul? All these playing around the obvious desire to cosplay as Satan playing video game is taking too long when obviously the end game is to own the rights to your soul.
But do they know how having a soul works?!?

;)

While I love this genre, I will hold off for now. Too many times I've been burnt by Kickstarter PC games.
I'm still at 100% success with my point-and-click list.
Did some games of the genre fail for you?

Can anybody comment on the performance of the native Linux version?

Because SteamOS is not a desktop OS period. It's a dedicated for-gaming OS. The reason Bazzite gets brought up is because it's closest thing to SteamOS that is infact for-desktop.
Why do you think Raichiori would be searching for something else than a dedicated for-gaming OS when asking about SteamOS?

And Comandante Ñoñardo made clear they were talking about a PC box, not a PC dedicated to desktop application use.

The native Linux version sadly does not support Ray Tracing, dlss, fsr or xess like the Windows version does.
I wouldn't care for ray tracing, but as the negative reviews mostly are due to performance, some scaling might help here...

The detachable controllers are a silly gimmick and the layout of the controls is stupid.
Detachable controls are great for say some Mario Cart with two players on the Switch.

I'm very surprised!

By having such a graphical intense game native on Linux nowadays in the first place,
by it being an Unreal Engine game, which we have not seen many native games on,
and by it being from Bloober Team, who had their last native game, Layers of Fear, back in 2016!
