Regarding Age of Rust, I took a look at some gameplay videos and the official trailer. Given it's supposedly in beta, gameplay looks terrible and environments basically look like DOOM 2016 assets without the lighting effects. To say nothing of the beyond awkward movement of the character models (there are only two apparently) and lip synch. The trailer is extra funny, given that should be the most impressive footage they've got available and it's anything but, with the above problems plus obviously inconsistent framerate.

What does seem to be a priority is that you must have an specific wallet on your mobile device even if you're not buying anything, which indicates what the real priorities here are.

Essentially it's a unique link pointing at a copy of some kind of artwork or other JPG, which is sold and traded among the suck...investors. They, and often the seller, do not have rights to the art itself, what they're selling is just the link to it.

It's as foolish as it sounds. And why they derisively (and hilariously) call people not into the scam "right clickers", because they can just save the jpgs and have just as much right to them.

NFT "games", or more realistically life support for the NFT storefront, basically involve the player getting in-game items by buying corresponding NFTs, which undoubtedly ends up costing more than the worst mobile games could even dream of. It's pay-to-win on steroids, and those steroids are on steroids.

Also there's tradition that if Microsoft messes up, people get curious about Linux. I think going as far back as Windows Vista. If there's mess on Linux side, there's also possibility to switch distros instead of just going back to Windows.

I recall a lot of talk about people moving from Windows 7 (which by Windows standards was rather good) now that it's lost support from Microsoft early last year. I imagine by now people are starting to notice the effects of no longer having updates and are interested in something that's *not* the newer versions of Windows.

Ha, I don't have any little ones to do that with. Maybe someone can code a 'kid simulator'... then again maybe that is a horrible idea.

There was literally a game called Babysitting Mama for the Wii that involved putting one of the Wiimotes into a plush child toy and doing various things with it. The fact that the mote was only so sensitive led to some hilarious situations.

Apparently The Garden Path is also going to have a demo out for this, and the dev will be on the official stream on Saturday and again on Tuesday. Louis has always been good to Linux with his games, so it's worth giving some support.
