Quoting: woox2kThem being annoyed by people who want to get games at a reasonable price just means they aren't getting my money. I know i would love this game and current price would even be worth it,I can totally understand their point of view here. They have a product, which they think is 35 buck worth, so they won't sell it for less. At least they are totally transparent about it.
It's their decision, if they want more money with less players then it's up to them. I prefer companies who eventually let everyone to have a go at the game when it's popularity and sales have gone down. That's a good point on your side.
i still won't buy it unless there's a sale!I don't know - i quite like the approach of the developer here, even if i think it's too pricy for an indie title, even for a genre shaping one. I'm exhausted by watching out for sales and bundles and stuff by now, i'm getting increasingly the impression that by this sales strategy they do not only get my money, but in addition they drain my time. On the other hand i'm too greedy to pay full price knowing that there will be a sale one day.

I have absolut no problem in violance within a fictional setting, kill as many fictional Guards as you wish. But if someone can get the impression that it is simulated history, the devs should point out the limitations of a medium like a video game.
It's also problematic because of the overall situation. If Native Americans are always pictured as an obstacle to white settlers,in books, movies and games, like here, one can learn that this is the truth. It's not the fault of a single source, but emerges from the overall depiction.

Quoting: slaapliedjeSide note; I have seen recently posts from native American ancestors who point out the tribes were constantly killing each other off. The colonizers simply sped up the process. Not sure why Colonization is any more violent and 'ick' as any other strategy game. They all include a virtual mass of casualties.Nobody said that Col was more violent than other games. But it has a particularly dark and cruel time as background an it should be pointed out, that these aspects aren't reflected accurate within the game, as there was no such intention in the first place.

Huge fan of the original game and even more of the Civ IV Dpin-Off, especially with the Alternative Colonization Mod. Unfortunally i couldn't manage to get the setup to Load/Save in my latest installation.
That being said i think that a Colonization Game should say a word or two about History of the Native Americans during the Colonization Era nowadays.

Just wanted to participate in the Distrowars and throw MX Linux into the ring. Has a nice Toolbox coming with it with reasonable but not overcomplicated features. All of my gaming related activities were supported ootb.
However: I'm aware that this distro is almost never mentioned, so i guess there is a very little userbase. Can anyone explain to me how they manage to be #1 on distrowatch.com? (which is how i became aware of them)

Like the shadowrun vibes within this one - from the asthetics to the title (ICE stood for Intrusion Countermeasures within the Shadowrun Universe).

Would be a much smoother process if it wouldn't be the 40GB Download on every attempt.

Quoting: ridgeTried using the EA App in your prefix instead? It'll replace Origin in the near future.Up until now i tried to install the client through steam (with no success) and then via lutris (successfully) and started Sims4 via steam which i read elsewhere that it will work that way, but it didn't - Sims just refused to start. Next step will be trying to install Sims in the Wine-prefix, then I will give the EA App a shot - thanks for the tipp.
There's mixed success with it, I know some people cannot get it to work at all, and for some (including me) it just works and does so miles better than Origin. I made a new Wine prefix and installed it using up to date Wine, then Battlefield 4 and 5 installed and played much more smoothly with it. Worth a shot, if you haven't.

Hopefully this will work out for me. Failed to get Sims4 runing for quite a while now because of this sh*#&y EA/Origin Launcher. Up until today I failed to see the purpose of Launchers aside from an additional way to market products.

I have to say it looks really cool. I really appreciate the art style, since i'm really fed up with pixel art (i suspect at least 80% of the developers of "pixel art" just being lazy) and not a huge fan of voxel art - so there isn't so much left over given that linux-playable and medium computational ressources are also limitations.

Although i was a huge fantasy fan in younger days and even played Tabletop Warhammer myself i've left this series out. I just never got hyped and i didnt even know why.
Now i cross fingers that CA will develop a new game with historic setting, maybe along with a good ship to ship combat. Something in the Victorian Age is on my wishlist for so long.
