Quoting: Vortex_AcheronticThat's actually worse than simply bad frame pacing, and thankfully less common. What frame pacing actually means is how smoothly and consistently frames are rendered. Bad pacing causes fluctuating frame times, resulting in choppiness or microstutter.Quoting: JarmerWhat exactly is "frame pacing" ...?Usually frames are rendered in sequence 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...
Frame paceing means frames are displayed in the wrong order.
1,3,2,5,4,7, and so forth.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI run a fresh kernel and the latest stable Mesa from a PPA, but I don't see why games would care about anything else. I suppose one might want to play around with gamescope and Wayland etc, and you'll get the new bells and whistles quicker on some other distro, but no game actually requires that stuff as far as I know. I think Mint is a perfectly fine distro for most gamers.Quoting: legluondunetWhat distribution you will advice for gaming? Not Mint. I love Mint, I use Mint, but Mint is not a serious gaming platform--all its stuff is old, and although I'm sure there are ways to make all the relevant stuff be up to date it's probably a pain. Luckily for me I don't play the kind of game that needs you to be up to the minute.

Quoting: basedIts the company that made me hate zombie games, and I still don't want ANYTHING zombies anymore. Dead Island 1 and Dying Light were a suffer to go through with bad gameplay design and glitches.I don't generally enjoy Zombie games, but I thought Dying Light was well worth finishing. And "The Following" DLC was even better than the base game. I don't remember having any major problems with the native Linux release either.

Quoting: slaapliedjeA lot of the original work on Mesa started on an Amiga...Are you sure? I don't remember this being the case, and I don't see any mention of Amiga on the project's history page [External Link].
EDIT: Found this, written by Mesa's original author here [External Link]:
Mesa was originally designed for Unix/X11 systems and is still best supported on those systems. All you need is an ANSI C compiler and the X development environment to use Mesa.
Others have contributed drivers for the Amiga, Apple Macintosh, BeOS, NeXT, OS/2, MS-DOS, VMS, and Windows 95/NT. See the README file included with the Mesa distribution for more details.

Quoting: PenglingIt sounds to me to be about as good of an idea as the Barcode Battler. You keep dunking on it, but I swear it took at least a couple of days before we got bored with my classmate's Barcode Battler. I mean, it was a new gadget and we were nerdy kids in our pre-teens.

Quoting: razing32Finally .You keep suggesting that non-comedy point-and-click adventures are rare or hard to find, and it still doesn't make any sense. I've been playing them since the eighties, and several new ones are released every year.
Something other than comedy/parody.
Lutris v0.5.17 brings critical bug fixes and a new way to run games with Proton

Looking at recent commits, seems like Lutris will download umu automatically when you first launch a game using Proton, as long as experimental features are enabled in Lutris.
Try launching with `env LUTRIS_EXPERIMENTAL_FEATURES_ENABLED=1 lutris` and selecting Proton as the runner for one of your Windows games.

Quoting: nenoroWhat do you mean? SSH works the same as ever, and logging in takes a single command. Unless your setup adds extra hurdles I suppose.Quoting: F.Ultraoh okay, well i don't use ssh anymore it used to be easy before. Now too many command line to enter before i can finally log inQuoting: nenoroWell back to Gzip or use ZSTD when i compile the kernel thenNo, the infection happens when xz itself in installed, not when you open xz files. So the danger is the presence of the compromised version of libxz on your system in combination with the usage of ssh.
Does this mean every package ending with tar.xz have risks ?

Quoting: CatKillerThe little one (who loves puzzle games, is a drummer, and has released his own music) is having a whale of a time with the demo.Sounds like he might be old enough to resent being referred to as "the little one". But I suppose that's a parent's prerogative.
