Quoting: kit89It's one thing for a company being 'evil' but being incompetently-evil, that I can't abide.Good point, being evil gives you an edge. You don't have to follow laws or social conventions, nor care about hurting people. If you still fail, you're stupid. Like someone we know that can bankrupt bloody casinos lol

It's not only devs that are angry, it's users too. I'm in "fuck Unity" mode and this time they can disappear up their own recta. I'll not buy games made with Unity*. It's not like Tencent is going to divest themselves of it now, or anything (i.e. you can never trust their behaviour).
That backpedaling and removal of the git history of the original TOS begets immolation from me.
I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of games I can actually play (the game types are the problem for me), made with that Godot engine.
* I can't tell a lie, there is actually ONE game I'm waiting for, Kona II Brume, (which is apparently almost finished and coming soon according to a developer comment I saw... "No, it's not dead, we're just waiting for the summer sun to die down" sort of thing) that I will be purchasing. I'm sure they aren't going to suddenly cancel their game and port it to another engine. That's almost like unfinished existing business to me, it's like it's already been purchased in my head.

Quoting: BumadarI read his post, wish there would be some real life examples. 5000% sounds amazing but what is the impact on game X :)Yeah, maybe a 5000% improvement in specific behaviour of something that wasn't working correctly. Some little test operation that got 2 FPS now gets 10,000 while off screen rendering, or something.

I grabbed Beyond: Two Souls for $11 CDN. The first screenshot I clicked showed Willem Dafoe, and I recognized him instantly.
So, sold :-)
(It also looks like a nice story game)

Is there actually a problem with VAC and Proton? I thought Valve pretty much fixed all issues by 2021 with that. I know EAC and other abominable (invasive, driver level) things need specific attention, but the way the VAC system works shouldn't be a problem. It's just using normal application level functionality to check for cheats.
Wrong?
Wrong?

That's worthy of mockery.

Quoting: officerniceJust buy Activision and fix the old CODs and price them properly. That's all I want from Microsoft. They still want $20 for the original 2003 COD 1, which won't even work correctly on most people's modern systems (unsupported display resolutions, directx and drivers etc.)
That's worthy of mockery.

Quoting: aparthyCame here for this comment. Would be horrible to see Skyblivion getting embrace, extend, and extinguish treatment. It would get the "cease and desist" treatment if Microsoft tries to re-monetize Oblivion.

Oh well, they can't touch my GoG Fallout 3. I'd otherwise love a remaster of that game, for me Fallout 3 was the best of them.

Quoting: slaapliedjeI decided long ago that Microsoft shouldn't get any of my money. Thanks for the list of stuff I don't need to spend money on :PI would actually be willing to overlook my vindictive dislike for Microsoft, but what I won't overlook is that eventually they are going to tie everything to their "UWP" rubbish interfaces. We'll be lucky if they leave old Bethesda titles alone when they start converting games. I wouldn't trust them to be the gatekeeper of my snot.

Quoting: Linux_RocksSean Connery for me, then Roger Moore. Though that isn't a knock against Roger Moore.Roger Moore thought so too, actually.

Indeed, after all the hype, it turned out I didn't much like Cyberpunk 2077, for various reasons. I was excited for Keanu Reeves, but I very much disliked his character. I found his obnoxious appearances annoying at times, even.
The game itself wasn't worth taking up the storage. I didn't care for the main game quests that much (pretty monotonous and a lot of silly cyber hacking etc.), and after completion, and dumping me back in game before the final chapter, the city was boring. Go wander around and look for pockets of gang enemies etc. and pick up the odd gig you missed that will be tediously similar to all the others from that quest giver.
Most all of the city is just props (non interactive), and you see the same iterations of bystanders everywhere you go. The driving isn't even all that much fun, everything except Jackie's bike handles like a pizza turd. The FOV in cars is just atrocious, too. I had no incentive to replay it with a different character type.
They pumped this guy Jackie up as your best friend in the world (after you've just met him a few hours ago in game) and tried to force this tragic loss on you when he dies, without enough character development to endear me in the first place.
Also, poor lighting and fog effects quality (exaggerated, ugly, somewhat obscuring) if you don't have ray tracing for dithering.
They broke it for me a few times with updates too which rubbed me up the wrong way (turned me off on the game... it's psychological thing). Fortunately I had GoG installers so I was able to go back to baseline and stop at the last good incremental patch while awaiting a fix.
I doubt I'll ever install that game again, never mind buying late DLC. I like Idris Elba very much too, but I'll not get sucked in again. Your favourite actor in the world will be an asshole when there are bad writers and spending money to hire them isn't necessarily going to make a game good.

James Bond has gotten so silly they could put anybody in there now. Sean Connery was the original badass Bond, but personally, I liked the suave, tongue-in-cheek, Roger Moore character best. He was pushing 70 in his last Bond roles lol
At the time I was wanting them to go back to someone more in character, but Idris Elba would have done great, seeing as they deviated from the kind of character that 007 was before that anyway. Timothy Dalton's character was too mean, Pierce Brosnan was close for the role (but not great). I enjoyed Daniel Craig, but by that point I'd pretty much given up on my conceptions of the Bond character. You just have to enjoy the movies on their own merits.
