Unfortunately their language around this is terrible and extremely confusing. There's

modes of play. You have to launch it with a specific option to get into offline offline. That's how I played the entire game through to the endgame and had an absolute blast, and had no chat at all, which I completely agree with you: is super annoying.
Regarding this post: I feel the same as what others have said: This seems totally okay to me, but they should have done a WAY better job communicating this to their players and fans. The way they did it with no comms at all is so amateur hour. They're a big studio, they should know way better.

Quoting: nenoroIt's fineYou can run the game in true offline offline mode which runs only locally and has no online connection at all, therefore no chat.
the game was good before they started to add that pollution named "chat" like in D4 it takes so much space on the UI, it's annoying you can't get rid of because they wanted to go online than solo.
This game had potential then useless players asked for online feature...
It could have been at the same level as Grim Dawn

To me there seems to be just a fundamental misunderstanding from the gnome team about the dimension of ... a screen. You know. The thing you use this software on. I have NEVER understood it. I simply can never use it because of this.
Every single screen on earth is a horizontally wide screen. So gnome puts a gigantic bar across the entire top of the wide screen, which is like 95% unused empty space. For what reason? And then puts ANOTHER horizontal bar across the bottom with apps on it with HUMONGOUSLY GIGANTIC icons for .... reasons?
So they squish the usable space vertically FAR more than it needs to be. And without using hacks / extensions you can't configure it to a single panel on the left or right or top or bottom (but I admit I haven't used it in a long time so not sure if recent updates have changed it).

An object is to provide a user with motivation to enjoy waking up in the morning and guide the user to sufficient awakening by generating a breeding event in a breeding game of a virtual life form when the user wakes up in the morning.
Spoiler, click me
I think a different kind of breeding would provide far better motivation to enjoy waking up in the morning
I'm sorry.

Quoting: dziadulewiczMaybe one day they start consider potential Linux customers first class customers and release the official client. Never bought anything from GOG during all these years because obviously they don't need our monys. And there is always Collection Chamber. This is my feeling toward them as well. If they can't even release a linux client after ALL this time, they clearly don't care about us at all.

Quoting: Mountain Man$170 seems pretty steep considering you can buy a low-end laptop for that price.Absolutely zero $170 laptops on earth are worth paying $170 for. This is at least worth the cash if you use it for the purpose of turning the steam deck or other handheld (maybe android phones?) into a proper computer.

For my specific case, it was a combination of
1) no writing / completely unfinished sections of the game
2) not accounting for the player choosing certain combinations of main character and love interest
Both of those are unforgivable for a released game they charge a premium full price for, and then trick the player into thinking anything they do will actually make any difference at all.
They have done lots of updates since I played it, so I have no idea if these were addressed or not. I will never open the game again. Most likely won't ever play anything by Larian ever again.

Quoting: MayeulCThere were thousands (tens of / hundreds of?) of posts across the larian and steam message boards with people saying the exact same things I was. There were so many furious fans, Swen (head of larian studios) actually even came out and addressed some updates.Quoting: JarmerAt first I was having an absolutely wonderful time in bg3 but then the ending happened ...I haven't played this game myself, but I think there are more than a hundred possible endings, plus minor ones... Was it just yours, or would it end in a similar way had you made different choices? (I've read your spoiler tag).

this game was SUCH an emotional rollercoaster for me. Normally I love Larian, but after completing this I HATED them. Really left me never wanting to play anything by them ever again. And I've played and loved almost all their prior games.

and I guess they had released the game without actually writing or completing a lot of the characters ending ... like at all. The majority of my party members had no ending whatsoever, absolutely nothing at all. And the ones that were were downright rage inducing. One of my characters was forced to die with no option to do anything else, and another ran off to live in a cave with no option to do anything else. I had grown so fond of all my characters and had spent a LOT of time doing very specific quests and getting very specific outcomes to prep for the ending and how they would act and what results they would get. Then all of that never mattered one iota and it all gets thrown away and they are forced to die and run away, or do nothing at all. It was WITHOUT DOUBT the worst ending to any game I have ever played in my entire life. Seriously so bad I don't know if I can ever trust them again.

Quoting: jgacasJust bought Everspace 2 which is at its historically lowest price at 19.99 EUR!Awesome game! I haven't played it since they migrated to ue5 and made some balance changes, but I had a blast with it shortly after it came out. It's absolutely GORGEOUS. Sometimes I'd just like flying around and not even doing much of anything.

Quoting: melkemindIt reminds me of The Ascent, which I ended up refunding even though I liked the atmosphere and story. The combat killed it for me.Yes you're right, it really does. Especially those red lasers and isometric combat style. I too bought and refunded The Ascent, for me the combat was pretty bad, but the mapping system totally killed it for me. I could never figure out where to go, and often the directions would point me to areas WAY above my level where I'd get instakilled.
