So what the heck is an 'indie game' nowadays anyway?

We should let these pathetic award ceremonies do whatever the hell they feel like, but pay them no attention at all, so they can wither and die.

Quoting: grigiIndie game to me means it has:Agree with this. Having DtD nominated in that category pretty much makes the entire "awards" system this laughable company does entirely pointless. At this point it's either totally bought and corrupt, or just a popularity contest. Either way, no credible news source or gamers themselves should even care.
* Independent direction (can make what they want to, without oversight)
* Independent ownership (financial and creative "IP")
* Independent vision (can make the game how they want to, without interference)
DAVE THE DIVER doesn't own their own IP as it's owned by a publisher, so they fail the independent ownership.

Quoting: BlackBloodRumGot to be one of my most favourite/used features. It's just so convenient once you get used to it. :woot:It really is! I use it constantly. So much so, that if I ever were to use another de, I'd have to make sure it has that feature or some plugin that'd enable it.

I switched over to full-time Wayland when Plasma 5.27 was released for one simple reason: the feature that allows you to push esc on a lock screen and instantly put the monitors to sleep doesn't work on X. It does on Wayland. There are other minor things, but honestly I didn't really notice much of a difference otherwise. I'm on an all-amd system though, so I know it's easier for me compared to nvidia users.

Quoting: CatKillerThe screenshots give me bigtime Flashback (original) vibes, which is a great thing."Full Void is a 2D Cinematic Puzzle Platformer set in a dystopian future. A young teenager, scared and alone, must use all their skills to defeat a rogue AI that keeps mankind oppressed."Looks neat. Wishlisted.

That pricing sounds pretty good. I've never heard of their flavor of ubuntu, I wonder if it's just pretty vanilla with some branding.

Is this something I could play for a few mins here and there on the Deck? Or is it more something you'd recommend opening on the desktop and just leaving it running for ages while doing other stuff?

At first, Mirage worked out of the box with expiremental on steam, but then the 1.05 update from ubi broke it. You'd get a crash error about not recognizing the gpu or something like that. Within about 24-48 hrs though, there were posts about how to add startup commands to force it to recognize the gpu and launch, and that worked for me. Been using those flags ever since. I suppose now I can remove them.
Or ... not ... the game isn't all that good. I probably won't play it much longer. It's nice to see the back to its stealthy origins, I like the removal of the actionrpg elements, but outside of that it feels very clunky and outdated. Mostly I think their engine is SUPER outdated when it comes to traversing the open world in parkour mode. Basim CONSTANTLY gets stuck on ledges, won't jump where you obviously want him to, will jump where you obviously don't want him to, gets stuck on enemies instead of running by them, gets trapped between two climbable elements therefore not climbing either one, etc etc etc.

This is great news! I was going to start this up soon, but I think I'll wait for these to release then start it. Loved the game when I tested it recently, and this will be great additional content!

I'm on an amd radeon 6800xt desktop gpu. I don't use any drivers at all, it's all baked into the kernel. I also don't do any of that laptop stuff (gestures, onscreen keyboard, rotation) so it's a very different experience I guess. Oh well!

I like that the reviews are talking about how it's more story and rpg heavy than just shooter. Looks interesting for sure. Wishlisted!
