Primordia from Wormwood Studios gets native Linux support

GOG may not have this newest build but it does have a Linux build. According to my system it's been sitting on my game drive since 2019 and it's a GOG installer. Hopefully it gets the new build soon.

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion has dropped Linux support (updated)

The more I think about things objectively, I find myself being pushed more towards FOSS games. Who do we usually not need to beg for a Linux port of their game ? FOSS developers. Who do we usually not have to worry about dropping Linux support ? Foss developers. Who always use open source engines and middleware ? FOSS developers. Who don't carve their game up into multiple slices of paid DLC after charging me $80 CAD ? FOSS developers. The tradoff of course are games that lack the graphics; physics; AI; story and other features that closed source games have but I often wonder if that would be the case if Linux gamers took a fraction of the money they spend on close source games and donated it to a FOSS game of their choosing.

Psychonauts 2 releases to great reviews but the Linux support is delayed

The $80 CAD price tag for it was already pushing me away but there is absolutely zero chance I pay that for a Windows game.

Quoting: GuestLike I said before, this is why I will not crowdfund or preorder. Another game promising Linux support turned eventually/maybe/probably quietly never.
I will crowdfund if they have a playable Linux demo and the price is $20 or less. At that point the trust is a little higher.

Is anybody else getting fed up with limited time demos ? I don't even bother with them anymore. I work six days a week, not going to schedule time to play a damn demo.

First-person psychological horror \SPEK.TAKL\ - Banned Edition is out now

I would have bought this from Itch.io anyway so no worries Valve. I just realized I have Please and Please Follow in my Itch.io library so I may play through them first to see if I like the developer's other games before buying.

Those who want to help support the Linux version of Unreal may want to look into Yaakuro who works in that area.

MATE 1.26 is out now with big changes like initial Wayland support

Just got it installed on my Manjaro system. Will have to give Wayland a try when I get a chance.

Quoting: BielFPsI wish Mate and XFCE team could join forces to adopt and support wlroots compositor in order to improve it. I think those awesome but underfunded projects would have a lot to gain from this kind of mutual collaboration.
Considering XFCE is one of the only other DE's I don't mind using I would be happy to see this.

Death Trash is doing well and has made back its development costs

I plan on picking it up once it exits early access. I am wary of early access these days because I have a half dozen or so titles that never got finished.

s&box from Facepunch 'works great' on the Steam Deck but no native Linux plans
14 Aug 2021 at 1:46 pm UTC Likes: 1

But I was assured that the Steam Deck would usher in a new era of Linux gaming ! Once again the branch of reality snaps back into the face of some people. When many of the customers no longer care about native why should the developers ?
