Then again, when I look at the authors itch.io it seems he made a lot of similar games in the past. With that kind of experience it should be possible to make something like this solo in such a short time.

They sure took their time, these games have been available on GOG for years (expect ET).
Turbo Overkill should see full Linux and Steam Deck support for the 1.0 release

I remember playing this game as a kid. I really liked it even if I didn't know what I was doing most of the time.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of an portable handheld PC and that the Steam Deck is a big success, but it seems kinda funny that many people prefer to play their games on a medium sized handheld device rather than their main gaming PCs.
I guess it's the novelty factor. :P
