Upgraded tonight, Deus Ex Human Revolution doesn't run without glitches anymore. Just freezes with CSMT enabled, and corrupted using StrictDrawOrdering. Well, I'll wait for some fix.

I hope I'll be selected as well. It's so rare to have JRPGs on Linux, not to mention Tactical JRPGs, I want to help the best I can.

Those greedy idiots.
Remember: Zenimax is NOT id software, and they will never be. Hell, they even sued John Carmack.
id is dead. Zenimax looted id's IPs and their community, to the extent that they ripped off Brutal DooM with their latest installment. Granted, it is a good ripoff, but those guys would do any stupid thing for the sake of money.

Anima Gate of Memories, a third person action RPG is now on Linux, some quick thoughts

The fact is that I am a great fan of the older titles, but from the 10th episode onward, it became too cheesy and too incoherent for my tastes. Some less successful series proved way more solid, like Xenogears/Xenosaga/Xenoblade, or the Tales of games, despite being a bit less polished since around Graces/Xilia.
Episode after episode, Final Fantasy has become less and less interesting, despite magazines' ever positive feedback. This time around Final Fantasy XV is met with very mixed feelings.
You should really give Final Fantasy VI a shot, it's an amazing game, far from the stereotypes of the genre.

Quoting: EdmeneI understand ^_^Quoting: omer666I don't want to be rude, but the best Final Fantasy titles are all playable on emulators. I don't think this one would be worth the money. However, with a big discount, I admit I would be tempted...I understand is that Anima gameplay remembered me of a FF XV livestream from yesterday that I watched partially. I was just thinking into a scenario that some people may like since as Liam said: "we don't have many good third person action RPG", Square Enix have allowed ports of games from western studios and had released some Final Fantasy games for windows (something unthinkable some time ago) that works with wine. A really good third person rpg would be Witcher 3 but we all know how it went.
Actually I never played any Final Fantasy and had heard that the old games are better than the new ones, plus I am not into anime or Japanese games in general so the chances of end up buying it are slim. But thanks for the tip on the emulators maybe I will try someday if I develop a desire of playing some part of the FF franchise.

Quoting: EdmeneSpeaking about third person RPGs, if Final Fantasy XV releases for Windows some day, maybe ask Feral to talk with Square Enix to make a port for Mac and Linux.I don't want to be rude, but the best Final Fantasy titles are all playable on emulators. And that bitten Apple, who would like to eat an apple that's already bitten? Is it symbolic of Apple's recent "control freak" politics? Is it a reminder that this computer is still theirs? :P Oh let me guess, must be something about sharing. But who the heck is interested about this today among Apple Inc.'s clients?
Let's give Tux some love or lets just make a Linus Torvalds logo instead. :P

Quoting: meggermanI agree that tux is pretty childish, but let's have a look at the competition: what, a damn Window? Seriously? If tux is childish, Windows' logo is retarded :P . Let's put a cathedral stained glass, for Gates' sake. Or let's put a pretty girl by the Window.Quoting: LukeNukemThe Tux icon is fucking hideous though, and scales down like a lump of cow shit does to a rabbit dropping.I have to admit the logo doesnt scale well. It also looks a bit childish, but what else can we use, a stallman avatar ?

Quoting: Avehicle7887...or is it GOG that fails to remember they wanted to sell some Linux games? Their contribution to Linux gaming is kind of... half-baked, if you ask me.We're really excited to unite our players!Yet they fail to remember that on GOG.com there are Linux users too, and as of yet there's still no Linux version available.
