How easy is it for developers to upgrade? That's my concern here.

Quoting: ricki42I stopped playing early on in book 3 I think, not quite sure. There were initially some issues with importing the choices from previous chapters, and then I didn't want to restart. I may get back into this once it's released completely. But at the time I got a bit tired of it. I found the toddler section really boring, it's just crawl around and find stuff in the house. I think they could also have made the characters in general move a bit faster. You have to run around quite a lot to talk to people and find stuff, and just pressing down the w key for a minute or two to watch the character leisurely jog somewhere gets old really fast. I usually like to explore so I tend to do a lot of running around. It didn't help that I found the map in Propast initially quite confusing, since it doesn't really display the different levels clearly. That let to some additional running around until I had the map figured out. In the end, I decided I was spending too much time running around and too little time playing the game so I stopped. Pity, because it's an interesting world and story.Yeah, I neglected to mention the toddler bit too specifically. That one part you're referring to is the most frustrating part of the game - just a pointless fetch-quest, and her story in general is one which doesn't really build upon anything. I just gave it the benefit of the doubt though since it's such a minor part of the game and assume it will be of great importance at some point. For the finding the pictures bit, I just found a guide ;). No gratification in stumbling across random pixels for an hour.

2. If you had asked a year ago, I would have said to wait since the books released every 4 months or so. But since there is only one left that's unreleased, it's probably OK to play now if you don't mind waiting a bit for the ending. I think most of the delays were due to the engine upgrade, so it might come out quicker.

Quoting: wolfyrionVery nice review , thanks..1. I've covered that in the review a bit. Yes, it's OK, but watch/read some summaries first to understand the background and characters - that will make the game far more rewarding. There's a few summaries on youtube for The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.
Just some questions:
1.If you never played the previous game is ok to play this one?
2. Is better to wait for all chapters to finish or better to start the adventure?

Yup, I have a bit of a rant about the choice system in the review :P. I'm pretty old fashioned too in that regard.

Quoting: fleskI didn't experience any noticeable bad performance in this game, but then I haven't gotten to Marcuria yet either. Is that in Book 2?Basically, Marcuria tends to be quite a bit worse than Europolis from my experience. I'm pretty sure it's Book 2 onwards, and it gets progressively worse because there's more people walking around and stuff later on.
I think I might be a bit old-fashioned in that I don't really enjoy the choices that seem to be a major part of the game, but I will try to set my prejudice aside to enjoy what I agree is a beautiful looking game. I look forward to reading your review tomorrow.

Quoting: dragevTested it om my A10-7850K. I had ~15-20 fps on unity 4, 7~10 fps on unity 5. Both with medium settings. So..not really playable now. AMD should work more with the unity team. The performance on most unity games are sub-par with AMD. Also, a lot of weird tears in many unity games.Wow... That's just terrible.

Anyway, I don't know why I bother commenting on them anymore. They'll get their money regardless of what people say and I do hope this one turns out to be a good game.

Quoting: fleskBy the way, it's funny how people conveniently forget about Massive Chalice, when it was ON time and ON budget.Sure, but that game really sucked :P. No offence to them, but in my eyes to make a game which on paper is EXCATLY the kind of game I pay good money for, but still manage to make it mind numbingly dull is just a massive achievement. Only other game I've had that with in the last couple of years is Grand Ages: Medieval.

The trailer is good, still not getting it though, Reservoir Dogs references or not. This was my first and last delve into the "parody simultator" genre and though it did give me a few chuckles at first, the joke got old pretty quickly. All the best to them though.

As much as it pains me to say it, there's no chance DF are getting my money unless it's for a finished product which is actually good. They're addicted to crowd funding money to the point where this supposedly "small indie studio" manages to keep multiple crowdfunded projects going at once while at the same time maintaining this sort of "we're your cool quirky buddies" demeanour... I feel it's kind of stomach churning at times.
That said, I don't think they have bad intentions, just that they don't know how to manage money and are too caught up in this "blue sky thinking "brainstorm synergies" "business is a philosophy and a way of life" BS. If they do more stuff like the remastered Grim Fandango, I'll still pay for it.

Quoting: Mountain Man"Guns, Drums, and Steel" is actually pretty awesome. Here's the metal version of the main theme:Not really a fan of metal music, but I can see why this would be pretty appealing, especially during wartime. They managed to still give it a bit of a renaissance vibe, where as I thought it would be just pure metal music. Pretty nice job actually, I hope they do similar things in the future with genres I enjoy.
