This game looks awesome! I've been following it since it was on Kickstarter, but I'm glad I didn't back it now that it turns out Linux won't be on launch.
I'll just wait patiently and get it when it's released for Linux.

Quoting: vultureit is even bigger fiasco when they make error when naming their primary platformI was actually considering writing to Trading Standards because they shouldn't allow developers and publishers to advertise games as being for "PC" when they mean just Windows. But I never get round to it because I figure I can save writing angry letters to everyone for after my 70th birthday.

Quoting: scaineIt might be an idea to re-state the Unique Question in these reviews, since I'd forgotten what the question was. From the responses, I think it was along the lines of "do you think SteamOS will be a success?". Or Steam Machines specifically? Can't remember. There, done! Sorry about that.

I'm going to have a unique question on pre-orders next month ;). Wanted to do it this month, but 3 unique questions is too much for one survey I think.

Quoting: GuestLovely work on the graphs guys! The graphs were all Fedso's work, he did a great job!
You missed an option on Unique question 2 for the new survey:
I don't buy on pre-order or day of release to avoid these issues.

Raven’s Cry Released On Linux, Still A Bit Buggy
31 Jan 2015 at 11:22 pm UTC
For all we know, the publisher rushing the developers could have been the reason why the game is buggy or maybe they had to go with topware because they were the only ones who would put up the money to make the game.
That's why I try to be a bit careful when writing because we don't really know what happens behind closed doors. Still, if that is true, then it's pretty bad.

Quoting: tony1abthe best reason to not to buy it is thisKind of playing devil's advocate here because I can't confirm the validity of this story, but isn't not buying a game punishing the developer more than the publisher?

I'm not a massive fan of thrillers in the traditional sense. I prefer the kind of "scary" that portrays where we are going as a species, dystopian futures, the collapse of society, etc. Out of all those types of stories, my favorite is probably Brave New World since it's the most relevant to today and has scarily accurate predictions. Not really a thriller, but for me the most terrifying things are those with a huge degree of truth to them.
Maybe in film, Battle Royale or something like that. That's a thriller and has the dystopian human nature type stuff I like too.
Game-wise, I find it harder to get scared in the traditional sense nowadays, but growing up I used to have the PS2 in the basement and have Resident Evil: Code Veronica X on it. Being 11/12 alone in a basement, and the third person camera, slow running and weak weapons had a similar effect to what Amnesia does today in making the player feel powerless. Those silly long loading screens with doors opening and slowly going up stairs just added to the tension. I think now I would find it really cheesy, but was terrifying back then.
EDIT:

Wasn't expecting it to work great on release either. Think I'll wait for them to fix the bugs, then for the Zero Punctuation review to come out and buy it then :)
