I know my card isn't the best (750ti) but should be running a lot better than it is right now. The game looks absolutely great though and I've enjoyed what i've played so far. Really think it's a great idea that they do stuff like this before release rather than having a flood of comments come in about bugs on release.

Also, gamepad worked absolutely great out of the box, shows the correct button names in game and everything, which I really like :)

Same thing here, had consistantly below 30 fps with a few spikes, GPU got pretty hot then it crashed.

No visual issues though and game was fun :). Completed 2/3 puzzles before it crashed. Depending on game length and how good the story looks I'll consider getting this one, looks pretty promising so far

That's really cool that they feature all those experimental planes, especially the Horton "flying wing".

Really tempted to play this, but feel like it's the kind of thing where if I start then I won't be able to stop so going to avoid it haha

Philosophy in games is a great idea! There were already a few things in there about being free out of choice or being forced to be free - that's the kind of stuff games should have (as long as they're not presented in a ridiculous JRPG manner where it turns out that all existence is the creation of some guy with dark sunglasses and spiky hair).

Going to keep my eye on this one. Really enjoyed The Swapper so hopefully this will be just as good or better and along similar lines :)

Don't forget Dog Mendonça either, which Segata Sanshiro mentioned in another article. They only have 3 days left to go of their campaign and still need more than $13,000.

I won't pay for Tropico because it seems like anticommunist propaganda to me. But at least it isn't worst than Call of Duty.
I would say that was accurate of the old ones but not so much this one. The old games were mostly inaccurate stereotypical representations of Caribbean countries, with other leaders from Latin America thrown in to make the generalisations even more insensitive (ie. having Juan Peron as the leader of a "banana republic" seems somewhat ludicrous.

I'd say this one is a more accurate portrayal of the historical realities of the Central American region - foreign intervention and a desire for control over its resources by foreign powers having destroyed the region and encouraged corrupt despots which responded directly to them.

I still think Cuba gets a bit too harsh treatment. It's a poor region, but Cuba stands out against its neighbours with one of the highest literacy rates in the world, one of the best healthcare systems in the world, lower corruption than its neighbours and higher GDP per capita than its neighbours...

But the game is supposed to be comedic, so I would hardly call it "propaganda". It's just as much a critique of Capitalism as it is Communism in this sense. If anything I would say it pokes more fun at imperialist attitudes of Western countries than anything else. COD on the other hand, I would have to agree.

it actually has more to do with the biological and Latin understanding of the word:
Oh, that makes more sense! Thanks :)

Can't say I care much for multi-monitor myself. Then again I'm one of those people that thinks that rather than get a bigger TV, you should just sit closer to the one you have... My monitor is 20 inch (I think) and I still consider that to be too big, so sit further away from it haha.

If that's what people want though then I guess they should get it. I have a feeling that we need a solid replacement for X implemented and in widespread use first though if Linux is to have multi-monitor support on par with Windows.

This is a great review! Was looking forward to this second part.

I have both Amnesias in my library but (as with most horror games) never get round to playing them. I'm one of those people that really like the buildup of suspense and subtle storytelling, but also really don't like the idea of sitting alone at night (when I usually play games) playing a horror game... I'll get round to it though!

Can't really say much for SOMA from what's out there at the moment. What I can say is that it really annoys me when people misuse names from books - in this case Soma, but I can't see any relation between the game and Brave New World other than the setting being the exact opposite.
