There's a lot of talk of multi-monitor usage, so I'll do that as a one-off. With these kinds of things it might be good to do a unique question now and then come back to it in a few months time and see if it's changed rather than month-by-month (will do that with the original Steam Machines question).

Even if not 100% perfect, shouldn't we get to a stable set of questions soon?Yeah, all the main questions are staying as they are now. Really, there is no difference between these ones and the last ones, all I did in a couple of questions was group things together, so they can still be compared with the previous results. The unique questions will come and go - but they're just things which are interesting as a one off, so don't really need to get trends out of them.
That would allow to see data change over time in a consistent way.

But Laptop vs Desktop is a good one! I'll do that next time as a unique question :)

Quoting: Xpanderalso good question would be What people use for gaming? Laptop or DesktopNot sure about multi-monitor because (so I've heard) it's very hard to run well under Linux and not many games support it.
and maybe a question about monitor count? ..but it might make it too bloat :)

Haha come on guys, clearly Arch-based and Debian-Based also apply to the original distros. I'll clarify it in the next one though.

The reason I split up the question and have it the way it is was to keep it simple and to avoid junk responses on the "have you stopped using Windows in the last month" question. But if it looks like it isn't working or there's a lot of people that still don't like the format, then I'll change it next month.
I am more surprised at Unity coming out on top though... I personally despise it and stopped using vanilla Ubuntu as soon as it came out (10.10?). Even in more recent encounters with it I have found it to be slow, laggy and counter-intuitive - not really any fanboyism on my part, I just really hate the whole experience of it and thought most gamers would too.

I'm not convinced that the windows partition question is quite right. I think a better question would be:I've still been tinkering with it a bit this month... Basically I wanted to reduce the amount of options overall because the survey was quite bloated and there was a lot of useless info (sorry to the 2 people who play games exclusively through WINE).
Do you have a Windows partition which you use for gaming
Yes
No -- I deleted it last month
No -- I deleted it over a month ago
No -- I don't use it for gaming

What did surprise me is that KDE DE users almost rival Unity usersKind of surprised too. I'm actually a KDE user myself and I'm surprised at the amount of flac KDE4 has gotten over the years - I find it very solid and very consistent and much more responsive than Unity. Really looking forward to KDE5 being default - it looks amazing, been testing it a bit. Only reason I use XFCE for gaming is because that machine is for gaming only so don't really want anything complex or resource hungry.

Holy s**t. RCT was awesome! I hope they manage to get this at the same level as RCT2. If it looks good by the time it's on EA, I'll support it even though I've lost faith in EA quite a lot.
Also, someone needs to do this for Theme Hospital. Though CorsixTH is great, I still want more hospital.

I use Manjaro 64 bits kernel 3.17. Where do I fit? Does that survey count people outside ubuntu based distros? I mean, we need the "Other" category again. If you add together the distros they list, it comes to 0.83%, so the remaining 0.35% must be "other". That seems to fit our own results as well.
Manjaro is Arch. As Linux Mint is Ubuntu. And NO, Ubuntu is NOT Debian.Manjoro is Arch-BASED, and Ubuntu is Debian-BASED.

Sorry, all the numbers are confusing me... On Steam it says "1.18% +0.12%" so that's what I put, but that's clearly not the increase over last month... Maybe it's referring to one year ago, because in that case the number is correct.
