Both Ultrawide (for my desktop, of course) and Steam Deck Verified are important to me and I've been meaning to try this for years so I guess now is the time on Winter Sale.

I’ve been playing Far Cry Primal which uniquely takes place in the Stone Age in 10,000B.C.E. It’s a lot of fun and runs great on Deck! (Despite the long list of Playable warnings I haven’t noticed any issues at all.)

That is you hold down the steam button and pull the right trigger for a left click.
I don't use desktop mode much (yet) but I think it may just be the right trigger by itself?
It would be nice if you could configure the track pad to register a click with a tap instead of a full press because of it moving the mouse when you fully press it.

Quoting: EikeHow do you press the mouse button on desktop mode with SD's own controls? I only know pressing the touchpad, which always makes the cursor move, especially with double clicks..In game mode it is (Steam) + R2

Why do game companies continue to generate ill will from their customers who don't want these annoying launchers?
What does it do for them? Has anyone ever bought something off of a third party launcher popping up on a game on Steam? Ever? Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno.

Thoughts on the official Steam Deck Docking Station

I've been using my official Valve Docking Station on my desk connecting to my ultrawidescreen Alienware monitor via HDMI (since my desktop uses the Display Port - it has one of each input) and it has worked flawlessly.
The automatic setting defaults to 1920x1080 in game mode but I can easily set it to use the monitors full ultrawide 3440x1440 and it looks amazing. But I set it back and prefer using it at 1080p.
Once I get a small Bluetooth keyboard I'll start using desktop mode more. Right now I mainly use it to install and set up games. I also plan to occasionally hook it up to a TV for docked play.
Anyway I'm really enjoying it.

Cool, thank you! I will install the new version of GE when my Steam Deck Docking Station arrives tomorrow. I remember it being pretty clumsy installing it originally with the built in controls which was the only time I've used desktop mode so far.
So, should I uninstall the old version of GE or will the new version take care of that? Or do I want to keep multiple versions of GE like mainline Proton has lots of versions?

Mine is coming tomorrow as well. I'm primarily going to set it up on my desktop for installs, setup and tinkering with desktop mode. I'll occasionally hook it up to our 50" 4K TV for gaming.
Can I hook up two controllers via Bluetooth?

If I installed Proton GE previously do I need to do anything explicitly or will it update itself?
Also, what version of Proton should I be using with RDR2? When Valve put out their recent Steam OS update with the RDR2 fix, I initially ran it with compatibility settings not specifying any particular proton version and it ran great for over an hour.
When I tried to run RDR2 a second time (since Valve's Steam OS fix) last night it wouldn't launch. I set it to Proton Experimental and it seems to have worked. I'm just curious if there is a different version that is preferred?

BTW RDR2 looks and plays *GREAT* with the new update and FSR set to balanced. No crashes! Also I can now set it to use the default Proton.

Quoting: EikeLOL I think it was actually out when I posted that.Quoting: GeeksOnHugsHow long does it usually take to go from the beta channel to the stable channel? I've been hoping and waiting for an RDR2 fix for several weeks but I prefer to stay on the stable channel. I don't mind waiting as I'm just glad to know a fix is coming but I'm wondering how long I'll most likely be waiting.Weeks to a day... Sometimes it's quick. :D
