Guess, I need to stay with my current gpu and forged about this old one in my family home but again vulkan dota implementation is unplayable here on RX580.

Quoting: LeopardNah, that won't work. My old GPU not support amdgpu nor vulkan. This is pre-gcn, so not possible.Quoting: DamonLinuxPLTwo problems:https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/For-AMD-users-having-issues-with-non-OpenGL-games [External Link]
In Dota OpenGL gives me much better performance than Vulkan and no graphics issues and no lags on Radeon GPU.
Thats why I was using OpenGL until now. Now I checked Vulkan again and I faced the same problems. The game is not playable on Vulkan.
They have a number of open and unfixed Vulkan issues in the bugtrack on github. They should fix them before removing OpenGL, unfortunately they chose a different path, I don't understand it at all.
The second problem is old chips that don't support Vulkan and were still playable on OpenGL. We have AMD's HD5000/6000 series and some 7000 series. We have quite a few NVIDIA cards that were still able to handle Dota in OpenGL. Sam has an old card at home and I played Dote on it in the evenings when we came back to the weekend or some holidays to the family home. Now this GPU will no longer run Dota on Linux, and interestingly, by installing Windows on it, we'll be able to continue playing on this GPU with DX11 and it's smooth. Once again, Linux people has been treated worse than Windows.
Do this.
Amdgpu kernel driver is required for being able to use Vulkan on those old gpu's, which is the default kernel driver on RX 4xx and newer gpu's.
It is not default on those older gpu's because it disables VGA output.

Quoting: LoftyNo, I mean is possible to dual boot with Windows and run game nativly on Windows because that old graphics card are still supported on windows dota2.Quoting: DamonLinuxPLinterestingly, by installing Windows on it, we'll be able to continue playing on this GPU with DX11 and it's smooth. Once again, Linux people has been treated worse than Windows. So can you run it in proton with DXVK then ? Thus emulating DX11.

Factorio gets official Wayland support on Linux

They only upgrade SDL to new version. Most of games can work out of box with native Wayland by only upgrading SDL2. No big deal for game that is still in developing.

Dota 2 set to remove OpenGL support, new hero announced and more

Solution was switching to OpenGL. No issues and better performance.
Also, every time Dota gets a big update or a new Mesa comes out, I check the Vulkan API in Dota and still unfortunately no improvement.
I checked a lot of tips, with different launch options etc. nothing helped. I did bug reports on Valve Github and either no response or no solution.
For me, OpenGL is the only alternative to play Dote on my hardware.

Quoting: officerniceCave Johnson is unlocked at level 75 or so of the battle pass which is not that bad.Same here. I have Radeon RX580 8GB and Vulkan API in Dota 2 works for me very bad. Poor performance, langs, graphics corrutions. Horrible lags when casting spells or broken spells textures. That only few issues.
Not feeling so good about the removal of OpenGL, mainly because Vulkan has been borked for me and some other users for some time now, as the game does not even boot up (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota2-Gameplay/issues/3863 [External Link]) so running "-gl" is the only option to play.. :/ Weirdly enough, as one user mentioned, we are recommended using an older Nvidia driver.

Total War: WARHAMMER III released for Linux with a port from Feral

I just recommend to stay with Proton anyway. This is just bad port.

Quoting: slaapliedjeNope. Just tested it and performance in semi-native version is much worse than in Proton on RX580 8GB. Also missing multiplayer with Windows and Mac version = broken port.Quoting: LeopardThat sounds sloppy. Seems to me that Feral's ports (especially for AMD users) have performed better than Windows+Proton?Quoting: MohandevirDid they revamp the Feral launcher for better Steam Deck integration? On Deck Feral titles are usually defaulted to Windows builds.
As most Deck users are normally Windows users and save file incompat, multiplayer incompat is not so desirable.

Compilation is quite easy. Yesterday I built an updated version of the game in the .rpm package for Mandriva. The package is now available in the repository for the Cooker version.

Fixes for Linux unfortunately are mostly cosmetic. Most of the changes are just fixing the build under Linux / Clang and exporting the build.
As far as I know, UE5 only adds more number of unsupported / broken functions for Liunx in relative to UE4. If for many developers UE4 was broken or incomplete on Linux then UE5 will be even more so. Although it may change in the future (but certainly only thanks to hard working community, not EPIC employees).

Quoting: mphuZIt is not about returns. CD Projekt and GOG thanks to Europen Union sanctions for Russia and disable SWIFT can't selling games. Well, can sell, but payment methods are blocked. So the CDP's decision is somehow forced.Quoting: soulsourceWhose propaganda? Western?))Quoting: rustybroomhandleWow, the comments on that announcement seem to be 90% Russians yelling about nazis and calling CDPR "traitors" and stuff. It's saddening what propaganda can do to people.
It will be difficult for Poles to return to the Russian market. Formally, they will return, but they have lost their respect and fans completely.
