Quoting: ShmerlThat's good. But I'd still take quality over quantity. You can ask this question like this - are there more Linux games coming out that you want to actually play than before? In my personal experience - it's less. But I also get that this point can be pretty subjective.

+1, both for 'less' and 'subjective'

Maybe one just gets saturated. There's really many good native Linux games, so the stakes for being 'interesting enough' are higher, and I buy less.

It's on my wishlist since it entered the store, and I'd really love to buy. But only native Linux for me, else no deal.....

GOG giving away Broken Sword: Director's Cut during their Winter Sale 2022

Quoting: BlackBloodRumI run into the "already own it" problem a lot for giveaways! I've only got what? 500 or so on steam, 100 or so on GOG and a bunch on itch.io so it's not really a lot of games, but the problem is a lot of the giveaways and bundles tend to be repeats and such

'only' is relative, I have 240 on GOG, maybe 130 from (old) Humble, plus some from stores that no longer exist (killed by Steam). But I think it's natural that after a while you own 'typical' candidates for giveaways or (large) price reduction. Nothing to complain about.
But in principle it's enough (now) to watch new releases, add interesting ones to your wishlist, and check that regularly

That's fine. After ~10 years, it's surely a 'good old game'

Quoting: slaapliedjeThe 800xl is what I cut my teeth on as well, recently got around to finding Bounty Bob Strikes Back on cart, and it seems much more difficult than Miner 2049er, which I played a lot of when I was a kid. Granted, maybe it is because I am old now and just suck. 😜

I'm also not as good at it anymore as I was 30+ years ago.
But it is much harder than Miner 2049er, IMO mostly because of the jumps. You really have to learn when to release the button to jump the right distance. Miner had only one jump.

shapez 2 an automation, management & factory-building game announced

Gee, I had just bought shapez.io a week ago, and dumped 80 hours in there since then
Good shapez 2 is (seemingly) still a year away (and likely even further for those like me that wait for a GOG version).

Quoting: slaapliedjeNot on topic, but Bounty Bob games are a pain in the ass!

Oh, why? I'm still playing BB strikes back now and then.
Was my first totally-addicted game, back in the mid 80's (on real Atari 800XL), I was even dreaming of jumping Platforms....
(That one, and Boulder Dash)

(And, shame on me, I don't recognize your avatars' game.... )

Quoting: slaapliedjeCurious what people have more luck with, Lutris or Heroic Game Launcher? I seem to have far more luck getting things 'to just work' with Lutris.

Nothing. I just download, run the installer, and have the game in my games menu....

Genesis Alpha One is Windows-only. Should at least be mentioned in the article, IMO.
