No, Linux is not at 1900 games on Steam, we didn't get 100 games in nine days

I get the whole picture, but have you seen the lineup of forthcoming games that just appeared on Steam displaying the SteamOS/Linux icon? I maintained my "explore" window up to date and usually get between 3 to 4 games per day untill yesterday. Today I got 3 complete screens with 11 games to "explore" and I don't know yet if there isn't a fourth. These games are all advertising SteamOS/Linux support... Sorry but wtf is going on?!?!?!

Quoting: Mountain Man
Quoting: maodzedunBecause I wanted for kodi to be added as a launcher in there. Anyway, I'm happy you like it but imo it's crap. Ubuntu is a much better solution. In the end I just boot in ubuntu with kodi for movies and a modded Windows will solve my streaming problems (that one's on AMD though).
As Liam mentioned, SteamOS is explicitly designed as a platform for playing games through Steam. It's not meant to be a general purpose operating system.
Personnaly I did exactly that and Kodi launches from BPM and works great if you follow the "How to" on SteamOS forum. The Steam Controller is a great remote control for Kodi, btw.

Anyway, even if Kodi didn't work well I wouldn't complain about it because for gaming, SteamOS is awesome.

Local coop... Yes!

Maybe the Steam Machines' console experience will help multiplying the qty of this type of games... I got 2 SC. It will be fun to play with my kids.

This game looks great indeed.

I read on Phoronix that this game is CPU bound. This would explain why I get 71fps average with my GTX750ti at High settings, 1080p. My CPU is an i7-2600 and seems to be able to do a good job even if it's 3 years old...
Amazing!

For those interested, Dubigrasu did a benchmark of Unity 4 vs 5... Quite promising:

Just look for the last page of the forum's comments.

Thanks Dubi!

GRID Autosport releasing for SteamOS & Linux on December 10th

I did the "error" of buying it in the spring when it was first announced together with a big sale discount. Because it was feral, I was confident so I bought it but I discovered later that they probably wouldn't get paid for it.

Doh! I'll never do that again!

In fact it's the only game that I can't play, right now. Aside from Rocket League that I got with my Steam Controller, but I don't really care about this one.

New Linux Gamer Survey For December

Hey! What a surprise! It's kind of off-topic but I just logged into Steam and I got the Steam Survey for the first time in nearly a year. I might just be "lucky", but since it's the first survey after the official release of the Steam Machines, anyone else is in the same situation?

Quoting: MayeulCTo me, it's more like the company behind the Mirage & Rafale Fighters, or the nEUROn drone :)
I admit that it could have been but you mean Dassault Aviation and in this case it's Dassault Systems. Two different entities. Oh! And I forgot to mention Google, in the list of Vulkan contributors.

Edit: Just for the record, Dassault Aviation and Dassault Systems have the same origin. At some point the company was split in two entities (1981).

Because they did the review with console in mind and that's exactly Valve's target.

Valve couldn't have built a console with Windows if the goal is to attract console gamers. This kind of gamer doesn't want to administer a console. He wants to push the power button and play. This is what SteamOS does and does it well.

The missing part is Vulkan and with the list of Vulkan's contributers, I can't imagine how it could fail: Valve, Epic games, Blizzard, EA, AMD, Nvidia, Intel and even Dassault.

For those unfamilliar with Dassault, this is the company behind SolidWorks and Catia, leading CAD softwares.
