Already on my wishlist.
This game sure looks great.
What is a typical Tactical FPS? Is Ghost Recon a good exemple of that?
Wait... Unity3D game? How smooth is it? ;)
Edit: Steam sales are started... Just bought it 25% off.

Valve Plans A Big Steam Machine Presence At GDC 2015

At GDC 2015... Official Steam Machines Launch:
What about...
"For every official Steam Machine sold, you will get a gift card that includes a free copie of or a pre-installed version of:"
One or many of the followings:
Half Life 3(?);
Left 4 Dead 3;
Gauntlet;
The Witcher 3;
Metro redux;
Project Cars.
I picked these games because of the timing of their releases or the mystery around their linux port and I wouldn't be surprised if it was related...
And because many console users don't know how to reinstall and/or hack a system they'll stick with SteamOS and its 800+ games and be happy with it.
I don't mean any offense in this comment, I understand that for some, tweaking a pc is not in their priority list.

Shroud Of The Avatar: Forsaken Virtues RPG Released On Steam For Linux

Quoting: nitroflowAs it stands now it's playable on my gtx 750 ti in full hd at max settings, but it's not yet optimized. They also need to optimize loading times because it's a loadfest as you go from the world map to other scenes and vice-versa, it can take over 30s loading a city and random encounters on the world map take about 6-9s.That was my last hesitation... What the Linux client will be like? The beta of the beta? If the graphics performances are as good as you say it (not the load time), I'm a buyer.

As long as the Linux version is available on Day-1 of the official release... Else you are exposed to "we only sold 50 copies of our linux port" type of argument (heard that somewhere?) when many linux players previously bought it on Windows and won't buy it again on Linux.

Everquest... You don't have to say more, I'm already sold. Everquest is to date my best MMORPG of all time. Unfortunately the graphics began to look terrible, else I'd still be playing it.
Nothing easy, everything you get, you work hard for it. I like that. If Shroud of the Avatar is anything close to that, we will finally have an MMORPG the way I like them.

Quoting: ellieferalWe're working on it. What with all the Linux games we have planned, penguins are likely to swim their way onto our Feral Radar sooner or later...Really glad to hear that. Big thanks to Feral!

What Can You Do For Linux Gaming?
24 Nov 2014 at 2:04 pm UTC
There is Mint too that is quite near to Ubuntu, from what I understand, and Debian that is the base for SteamOS, Ubuntu and Mint... Btw, why isn't it officialy supported by Valve?
Personnaly, I stick with Ubuntu-Unity because it's the best "out of the box" experience for my 42" HDTV.
Unless gaming is not your priority...
That's the way I see it, at least.

Quoting: tuxisagamerAnyway, the choice is not ours. It's already been taken out of our hands. If you want a ready to go gaming experience, better stick with Ubuntu, as supported by Valve, and change the desktop UI if you mind. KDE, Unity, Xfce, Lxde, Gnome, to name a few, are all available and you still have the full Steam support.Quoting: tmtvlIf we have to select a distro to be the "default", I'd like to suggest Gentoo. We tend to be more aware of what can cause problems on our systems and how to fix it compared to people who run, say, Ubuntu and don't know half of what's installed on their machines.There are a copuple problems with that. One is that each individual Gentoo user can set different USE flags so software may be at the same version but be compiled with completely different options. Another is that you want to officially support the consumer version of the OS. Game companies support Windows Professional and Home not server. Same concept.
