it's a strange error, rebooting didn't fix the problem for me, but switching from x11 to Wayland and then back to x11 fixed the problem... :wink:

In my case, it poped a window showing it was going to uninstall them. Since it seemed like kde basic apps, I figured they had replaced them in the new version, but I was wrong and there was no way to stop it, unless cancelling the complete update...

Anyway, once I figured the right command, it took a couple of mins to restore it.

It reminded me of the LTT incident with Pop_OS! Maybe it got fixed real quick and I was unlucky to stumble upon it?

Just updated Manjaro Gnome and...everything work, no issue for the moment. A far better experience than upgrading Ubuntu to a new version...when you have to finish manually in command line with apt-get install -f and apt-get clean...

We are on the same page.

I just had that weird occurrence and tought to share my experience, in case it happened to someone else, in case it could help.

That's exactly what I lived with Debian and Debian-like distributions, until I migrated to Arch/Manjaro.

Seriously, I did a lot of distro hopping (Arch, Debian and Fedora based) and never found a distro that didn't have some annoying issues. It's just a matter of what you are willing to cope with. This said, they are all less annoying than Windows, in my opinion.

Manjaro is the "lesser evil", atm, to me. :grin:

No clue. It's a fresh install from last week. No aur activated. Just flatpaks.

There was an update available. Saw that KDE 6 was installed and during the upgrade, all the apps were removed. That's all I can say.

Yeah every time a AAA company says something like "quality over quantity", what I hear is "we are spending even more on a handful of big franchises in the most popular genres instead of doing anything new or creative or investing in more diverse games".

Yeah, I found myself thinking "So, just new iterations of big blockbusters, then."

The thing is, aside from FF, I don't know what blockbusters Square Enix has left... Eidos was behind the Deus Ex and Tomb Raider franchises and it was sold, along with the ips...

dragon quest sell a lot in japan, to the point that i wouldnt be surprised if it sell more on japan alone than final fantasy worldwide.
the day an dragon quest is relased its holiday because no one will work that day.

nier was an niche game, until nier automata made it popular and now even old nier games sell.

monster hunter is another big hit...

im not sure about the rest but im quite miss informed about gaming in general.

Oh! Sorry! Completely forgot about DragonQuest. Should have though... I beat the hell out of it, on my original NES! Played it again on my Steam Deck, not long ago. Lol!
