NVIDIA GeForce NOW will soon limit your hours per month but some memberships get upgraded

Quoting: MohandevirI'm still on my founders subscription (30$CAN/6months) and not planning to move from that. Let's see what's in it for me, but 100 hours per month is more than enough, considering it's only a backup plan for my Steam Deck.

Edit: It seems I get the performance plan for the price of my founders sub... So, for a little less than half the yearly bill of a regular sub. Nice!
I missed out on the Founders subscription back when it first started because I didn't play PC games that much at the time but I do have a subscription for Performance (fka Priority) now. I think the new changes makes sense because not everyone uses up the 6 hours provided by the Performance subscription and you can jump in and out for a couple of hours of game without going over 100 hours total for the month. What would disappoint me is if they ever cut the number of hours on your subscription like going from 6 (8 on Ultimate) to 3 (4 for Ultimate) hours.

Quoting: BlackBloodRumHonestly if you want to stream games just do it yourself with Sunshine or Steam Remote Play.

Why pay someone else for something you can do yourself?
For someone like myself that doesn't own a very powerful PC or want to build one from scratch, this is a convenient way for me to play some of my Steam games on a bunch of devices without doing the setup myself. I use it on my Steam Deck and Mac with great results.

Quoting: TheRiddickI think Steam Deck 2 is going to upset a lot of these streaming services because it will be hopefully fast enough and good enough while also being a pretty decent price that most people can just use it, being portable solves the other reason these streaming services offer.
For my part, just a docking station where I can slap my own gpu on it and connect it to a Steam Deck 2 would end the debate.
This would be awesome if Steam Deck 2 provided a way to use eGPUs because that would give those AAA games some more juice to play at great framerates and graphics.

Disney-styled classic horror game Bye Sweet Carole looks great in the recent trailer

The game looks like a combination of gameplay from Clock Tower, with some platforming mixed in and it looks pretty cool with the art style they went with this one. I have this one on my wishlist and will get it later.

Steam Deck Verified highlights for November 7, 2024 including Planet Coaster 2
7 Nov 2024 at 2:22 pm UTC

I remember trying the Tenebris Somnia demo on the Steam Deck recently and it ran great, especially when you lower down the TDP Limit and GPU Clock to get more out of the game. Also, it's great that they're now Steam Deck verified.

What have you been playing recently?
I've just recently finished Animal Well and Crow Country and now, I'm trying to get back to Remnant 2 again since I've been putting it off after one of the optional boss gave me a good beating.

SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics & Dreamcast Classics get delisted in December

Quoting: williamjcmSEGA probably found a different way to sell them, like they did when Sonic Origins led to the Sonic 1/2/3&K ROMs being delisted from the collection.
I think you're onto something because if I remember correctly, this is not the first time Sega has repackaged their Mega Drive and Genesis collections of games and maybe they're going to do the same thing like they did with Sonic.

Quoting: Talon1024On the other hand, SEGA did announce some new games for their IPs during last year's Game Awards, so I wonder if this delisting has anything to do with that.
That might be it since they haven't given a reason why these games are being delisted yet.

Humble Choice for November has Persona 4 Golden, Warhammer Darktide, Cassette Beasts and more
6 Nov 2024 at 3:02 pm UTC

I bet if they replace Darktide with Rogue Trader, they might get more people to subscribe. Look at what happened on Fanatical with their Movember Bundle they recently put out for charity that got sold out within a day because of Rogue Trader.

EA / Respawn now block Apex Legends from running on Linux and Steam Deck

I guess this isn't a surprise given that they already added their kernel anti-cheat on games like Battlefield and this is just going to continue until there's a way to make it work on Linux without their help.

Bazzite updated to Fedora 41 with expanded PC gaming handheld support

Quoting: PyrateI've also been thinking about doing a console-style mini PC, even though its probably redundant to do so when I already have a Deck and a dock...
I was thinking the same thing about getting a console-style mini PC for some time after owning the Steam Deck for a couple of years and recently decided to purchase a PC that was small enough to fit a low profile GPU because I wanted to play games that the Steam Deck struggled to run. That PC will end up using Bazzite on it since I hear good things about it even though I know that ChimeraOS and Nobara exist.

I have a Deck and a dock too, but the resolution doesn't look great on TV and the Steam Deck is struggling with some games. So my idea is to build something more powerful, but still a small one.
Any mini PC recommendations? I'm looking for ready-made a little box, so not looking to build my own pc.
I've seen some people use those Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny PCs for gaming and not sure if it matters to you, but that one has either an Intel i5 8500T or i7 8700T in it with a slot that requires a riser card for the GPU. The RAM and NVMe drives can be upgraded if you want to go beyond the default from whoever you buy it from.

Quoting: kftXI wish it wasn't immutable so I could remove stuff I don't want like Lutris. That's the only thing stopping me from doing the Switch on my Steam Deck, really.
Just `rpm-ostree override remove <package>`. It's the same stuff as all the immutable Fedora variants.
Would the removed packages come back if a new Bazzite update is available and installed on the PC? I know that Steam Deck likes to reset any of the changes you make on the immutable portion of the OS.

Quoting: ZeloxHaving a desktop pc that just stood there with a decent amd gpu I wanted to put this pc in my living room. Sadly the install for Bazzite is so huge that it wouldn't fit on any of the USB's I have at home, I ended up with chimera OS instead, but that was a real pain to install also. I hade to clean format my hard drives, edit the install script and then I finally manage to get it installed. So if there is one who want so take the market by storm, just make an easy install. I will probably try Bazzite os again once they have some kind of install over the internet. Chimera was painful to install.
Quoting: ToddLI used a 16GB USB stick to create the installer for Bazzite and it worked perfectly fine when I tried it on a PC I recently purchased. You don't need anything more than a 16GB USB stick since the installer itself it about 10GB.
Just a heads up. Bazzite can be picky about what kind of USB stick you can use. It just refused to boot from my Kingston stick even though Kubuntu, Fedora and Windows 10 worked just fine on it. I went out and bought a Samsung stick and that one worked.
I used a SanDisk USB stick and that one had no issues with writing the installer and booting it from the PC.
