Quoting: SchattenspiegelWait, that Freeware site is actually selling games? The only thing that they did offer at the time was coupons that made games cheaper but that's still not enough to get people to care about buying game on their store. Also, their launcher sucks anyways and even though I've gotten it setup on the Steam Deck, I only use it when I feel like it, which is rare. I only collect their free games they offer every Thursday and that's about it.
Cool, never noticed. Once I played through the 450 or so Windows only titles they gave me for free, that I did not have time to touch, yet, I might give it a try. Do they offer proton integration, controller remapping and native Linux support for the games they actually sell like other stores do?
Nintendo Switch emulator Ryujinx gets shut down

Can't say any of this is surprising coming from Nintendo, the same company that hates emulation more than anyone I've ever seen in video games. They would rather wish emulation didn't exist so that you're forced to buy their underpowered hardware and charge you up the butt for their overrated first party games, imo.
Quoting: Talon1024I don't have a Switch, but I've heard Nintendo is now making their beloved retro classics only available through the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. In addition, console game developers generally have to re-release their games for each new console generation, due to the backwards incompatibility. They started putting up retro classics on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription the moment they stopped supporting the Virtual Console, which is a joke because you only get to play them for a short time before they remove them from the library and these games are already out there to download if you wanted to emulate them from their respective systems. Now, some are saying Nintendo are going to allow backward compatibility with Switch 2 and even if it is true, don't be surprise if any of the Yuzu code was used to enhance those games because they don't know how to make good emulators.
Quoting: WMan22There is no good argument in favor of removing emulators from existence. If you approve of this, I literally see you as no better than people who burned books under fascist regimes.Unfortunately, their fanbase are approving of these emulator removals and anything that they think harms Nintendo. Good thing I don't let some company like Nintendo influence my gaming and I'm glad to never pay a dime for their crappy hardware and games ever again.

Despite a lot of the discussion about the secure signing enclave, I'm just happy that Valve is continuing to make contributions to the Open Source community with this collaboration.

Quoting: pbBTW I hope "coming to steam" means with achievements, cloud saves and all that.Very doubtful since it's more likely going to require using their embedded game launcher on their Steam releases for these features you listed.
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered announced for December 10

I don't remember Soul Reaver 2 since I was out of the loop in gaming by the time it got released on PS2 but I do have fond memories of Soul Reaver 1 despite not finishing it. I do wonder if delisting Soul Reaver 1 on PC meant that they'll include it in the remastered version as a bonus game.
As for the remastered versions, it looks fine but some of the character models and environments don't pop out in a way that it was redone from scratch but rather just cleaning it up to make it pretty instead of it being more modernized.

Valve appear to be testing ARM64 and Android support for Steam on Linux

Quoting: AdutchmanMaybe they want to use something like the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite dor their new Steam Deck? Or maybe not because the graphics capabilities may not be powerfull ebough, I don't know.Seems doubtful that Valve will use Snapdragon X Elite for the new Steam Deck since as you mentioned, the graphic capabilities are not powerful enough. More likely the next Steam Deck will stay on x86_64 using an AMD APU until ARM64 gets to a point that it outperforms the AMD APU graphically.
29 games are getting delisted from GOG

Quoting: monyarmWhat does delisting mean in this case. If you own any of these games will they dissapear from your account? Or does it simply mean that you won't be able to see them in the search/store and buy them after they're delisted? When a game gets delisted, they're not available to purchase anymore at the store and when searching for the delisted game. As for owning the delisted game, as long as you've purchased it before it was removed, you should still be able to access it from your library on GOG (and Steam).
Nintendo and The Pokemon Company file lawsuit against Palworld maker Pocketpair

Nothing shocking anymore when it comes to Nintendo and their usual lawsuit happy ways. First, they were going the copyright route because their fans were trying to tell them that Palworld copied the character designs of Pokemon and nothing came out of it. Now, they're going the patent route because of a certain game mechanic that's been used by different games over the years but yet they target Palworld over it. If that fails, then where would Nintendo target next from Palworld?

Quoting: GBGamesFirst Oxenfree, now these games. Is there something going on?Sounds like these companies aren't happy with whatever sales they're getting on GOG and probably decided to delist the games but if GOG are willing to work with a company like Adult Swim to bring it back in the future, then they're might be a slim chance of making it happen like Alpha Protocol.
