I'm currently playing Remnant 2 using Geforce Now on the Steam Deck since it natively doesn't play nice with this game and Frontier Hunter Erza on the Steam Deck since I'm a sucker for good/bad Metroidvania games.
Quoting: pleasereadthemanualI wouldn't be surprised if some of the changes had to do with the EA or Riot Anticheat being added recently or games that used to work but broke. And the number of developers with multiplayer games that just refuse to enable their anti-cheat. I really hope over the next year as the Steam Deck continues to sell really well that developers will reconsider that.I've been observing the opposite trend... I checked areweanticheatyet.com at the beginning of the year and it was at around 60% supported/playable, and now it's at 54% supported/playable. Kind of sad, really.
I'd love to see a report from a developer who had it enabled and then disabled it, saying, "yes, Linux really did cause all these problems we were afraid of, and we're glad to get rid of Linux support!" I'm only seeing companies not wanting to take the risk.
Battlefield 1 gets EA anticheat in September - will be left broken on Steam Deck / Linux

Quoting: hazukashiidesuHeh doesn't affect me..The closest thing you can do is use something like cloud services such as Geforce Now since it's available there but you'll need a strong network connection. This is what I did when I was close to finishing Battlefield V and my network wasn't the greatest but it was enough to get me through the remaining campaign mode.Battlefield VBattlefield 1Battlefield 4 was the last good battlefield game..
Spoiler, click me
Actually this really is a bummer.. I've got a few workmates I join for early saturday morning BF1(only time we all have available anymore with kids and all), maybe we'll find another game, but I'm going to miss how it is now.
Black Myth: Wukong shows very clearly Valve are selling a lot of Steam Decks

Quoting: sarmadSpeaking of Black Myth: Wukong, can it run on Steam Deck? I assume that is way too demanding title for the Steam Deck to handle, but I just thought of asking anyway.I saw a video of someone playing the game on Steam Deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB1NtSiEJ6E [External Link]

Quoting: basedWelp, that's it, it was a good run.If the next one is anything like Battlefield 2042, which is multiplayer online without a campaign mode, then that'll save you the trouble of getting it in the first place.
Next game's free for me, how about that EA? You steal I steal.

Good thing I only cared about the Campaign mode on Battlefield 1 and finished that up after Battlefield V was infected with this POS anticheat.
Quoting: MohandevirLet's just hope Microsoft end up locking them out of kernel access, just to make this a complete waste of time and money, for EA.If only that same logic can be applied to all kernel anticheats from companies like Activision and Riot Games.
Resident Evil 2 makes a return to GOG with lots of improvements

Quoting: CyrilThese 3 Resident Evil games are/will be only available at GOG at the moment, Linux support is not really the topic IMHO...I can see why these 3 Resident Evil games would be on GOG since Steam pretty much got everything else from this series and GOG are the ones that are making improvements to this game. If Capcom were to make these changes to the game, then I can see it also appear on Steam.
Steam sets a new record with 37.2 million concurrent users online

Awesome record for Steam and they continue to increase as time goes on because there's always more new games to come that'll push those numbers up.
As for Randy last X/Twitter post, if there were Steam competitors during its infancy, then they would've had some good competition. However, these competitors that we have today came in after Steam had already established themselves as the de facto place to buy your PC games digitally. At the end, competition is still great as long as Valve isn't killing/buying them off one by one.

Celebrating 6 years since Valve announced Steam Play Proton for Linux

Happy birthday to Steam Play Proton
Who would've thought Linux gaming would become what it is today with Steam Play Proton and I'm glad for its existence because without it, I would've never imagine playing the many games I have on my Steam Deck.
It's crazy that it's been 6 years since it started and it's come a very long way from the time I first tried it out on an old gaming laptop with my small Steam library of games (which has since grown by leaps and bounds) that ended up not working at the time to working great now

Humble is doing a big Resident Evil Bundle again that's worth a look

As good as this bundle is, it's missing RE4 Remake and if they add that in, it would be a steal at $30 despite many who despise Capcom for the DRM. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother to get it since I already own all of these and would've gotten it if I hadn't bought them back then.
