Quoting: GuestThis is not based on the usual D&D ruleset, but on Warhammer (modified) ruleset, which is refreshing (and a lot simpler than the previous games imo.) It is also turn based, which is a nice change (I hated the RTWP system).
I also prefer turn-based; seeing it with that turn-based look was one of the things that made me think it was interesting.
I played a campaign of the Warhammer (not 40k) roleplaying game once. It had some interesting concepts but was a bit bare-bones, at least at the time. But that was many many years ago so any present day Warhammer RPG is probably completely different.
Good thing that both Pathfinder games and Rogue Trader are available on GOG if you want to go the DRM-free route and decide to give it a try.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyHuh. Never heard of it. Looks interesting.
It's from the same company that made the Pathfinder series and it's based off of one of the D&D rule set of books. The Pathfinder series of games are usually on sale often if you're ever interested.

Thanks for the heads up, Liam! I'm on the fence of buying the game because of the cost and since I already own the Pathfinder series, I'm going to wait it out for awhile before I grab it at a price I'm willing to purchase it.

Blow has GamingOnLinux blocked on X, so I missed it until it was pointed out.
Any particular reason..?
We disagreed many many years ago on something around Linux users "not buying games", and he blocked me as a result of it.
Man, Jonathan Blows

Good thing I was digging around my old Humble Bundle purchases before IGN got to them and to my surprise, I forgot to register my Steam key for the old version of the game. Now, I finally own it before it got delisted.

ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree gets a new trailer ahead of June release

This trailer looks good and FromSoftware continues to be the kings of the Souls genre. I can already tell this DLC is going to be a winner and success on many levels for them.

IGN acquired the Gamer Network including RPS, Eurogamer, VG247 and more

I'm glad sites like GamingOnLinux exist because IGN is one of the worse when it comes to reporting gaming news but the crazy thing is that they also own Humble Bundle, which is hit or miss and many still miss the days prior to their acquisition.

The KINGDOM HEARTS games are finally coming to Steam in June

Quoting: Justin_SHopefully Steam's release is better, but it's Square, so I expect this to be a complete money grab with very minimal effort on their part to integrate nicely within the Steam ecosystem, expecting us all to forget how hostile they were to the steam platform in the first place.
With this new Square Enix CEO, it sounds to me that maybe they'll be less hostile to Steam if they continue their plan to make games multiplatform.

Men of War II out now on Steam with Native Linux support

I was going to ask about if it was worth it to get the first Men of War but after reading these comments about Men of War 2, I'm going to avoid it.

Netris is an open-source cloud gaming platform with Stadia-like features using Proton

I like the idea and it's great that it'll let you play most of your Steam games compared to Geforce Now, which used to let you played every Steam game library you own in the early days before some publishers didn't allow it. Of course, the kernel anti-cheat games will always make it unplayable with this setup but at least this is better than nothing when it comes to cloud gaming.

It'd be nice if they allow other graphic cards besides Nvidia but I think they'll get this resolved sooner or later and I would like to try it someday when I build another gaming PC

EA SPORTS WRC is adding EA anticheat, breaking another game on Steam Deck / Linux

Quoting: westurnerWhat are some solutions to anti-cheat on
Linux?
Grow Linux so that it's too big a market for anyone to decide to just ignore. That's it; that's the only solution.
If only that happened over 20 years ago because at this point, Linux will never reach a large market at the rate it's going.
Huh? Our market-share seemed to have exploded last year, after endless years of hovering just around 1%. This is probably in large part thanks to the Steam Deck, and we're already getting noticed by more developers, just not the ones whose games you probably don't want to buy anyway (EA, Ubi...)
While it's great that Steam Deck has helped with increasing the marketshare, it still pales in comparison to Windows and unless Linux reaches levels that make it compelling enough for these companies to invest in creating solutions for their anti-cheat software, they don't care enough to deal with it and instead, block access without trying.
