Atari revives Infogrames and acquires Totally Reliable Delivery Service

It'll be interesting what IPs they'll start releasing in Infogames since I haven't heard that name in a long time

Some of the games that were released from Nightdive Studios are pretty good and hopefully, that'll continue with Infogames.

Ghostwire: Tokyo removed Denuvo Anti-Tamper

Quoting: SolitaryOh, the game that added it a full year after release is removing it again? Oh yea... I am rushing to buy it now :neutral: what bad could come from this kind of company?
Buying? I think I have two free copies over various stores now.
You're correct that this game was given away for free on Amazon and Epic and I remembered picking up a copy on Epic not too long ago.

Fedora Linux 40 is officially out now

Quoting: legluondunetWhat distribution you will advice for gaming?
From my experience, a good Linux distribution for gaming will be a distribution that will provide all packages needed for gaming:
- Proprietary and open source graphic drivers
- recent kernel
- wifi/bluetooth drivers
- wine/wine-staging
- 32 and 64 bits libraries
- Steam
- all emulators
- flatpak
- Lutris, Heroic...
- Gamescope, Mangohud
which manages dependencies efficiently: for example, if I install Lutris, also install wine, the 32 and 64 bit libraries, install the sdl libraries etc... So that the user subsequently does not have any messages error linked to a missing library when launching his games. And packages should be updated regularly.

At the moment I have successfully tested the following distributions for the game:
- Manjaro (ARCH)
- openSUSE Tumbleweed

This two distributions are rolling release so you always use recent and stable packages.

As an Ubuntu user for many years, I would not recommend this Linux distribution for gaming, I have experienced a lot of problems with unsatisfied dependencies, app packages not available, issues unresolved and its management of PPAs is complicated and degrades its stability.
Then I often encountered difficulties when updating from one version to another.

What about Fedora? I would be interested in your feedback.
I was going to suggest trying Bazzite, Nobara or ChimeraOS but not sure if they fit the criteria you posted.

Steam Deck Verified highlights for April 2024

What have you been playing recently?
Great list of games you posted, Liam. As of now, I've been playing Alan Wake Remastered through Geforce Now and once that's done, I'll either go back to Battlefield 1 to complete the war stories or jump into Alan Wake 2. Otherwise, it's back to the sea of installed games that I've forgotten about but need to complete before starting another round of backlog cleaning.

What a great time to play a library of games that'll last you for a long time and it's hard to resist new games that keep coming out every year. Poor wallet

Dead Island 2 arrives on Steam boasting of Steam Deck support
23 Apr 2024 at 1:18 pm UTC

Quoting: pantherWorks fine for me on my Desktop PC, Install - Start - Play.
Haven't tried it on my Deck yet. With the known problems, I don't like the way they advertise it either.

Epic Games Store account linking is not required and can be skipped [1].

However, the Epic Games Online Service is installed in the background.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same way whenever Alan Wake 2 gets released on Steam someday (or never).

I was thinking about getting this game last year on Epic when they were offering those coupons for extra discounts but decided against it since I didn't feel like using their crappy launcher to play it. Now, I'll wait for it to be heavily discounted in the future since I'm a patient gamer with a never ending backlog

Win a Steam Deck OLED or a golden egg game bundle in Fanatical's Mystery Egg Bundle
22 Apr 2024 at 5:02 pm UTC Likes: 1

These mystery bundles are always a crap shoot just like the lottery and the most you'll get out of all of this are games that a lot of people didn't want. Good luck to anyone that wins the golden egg or Steam Deck OLED but don't expect anything more from buying these bundles

I'd say give it some time since they did release God of War this year on GOG.
im starting to think with the Playstation overlay being introduced and integrated with the game it might mean it wont be drm free ever.
From what I read, the Playstation overlay is optional if you're only playing single player but mandatory for multiplayer. Not sure if that'll be a problem whenever they decide to release it on GOG since there's cross play with PC (Steam, Epic) and PS5, which might not be a problem for them to implement on GOG unless I'm wrong. GOG does provide crossplay documentation for those that want to implement it with their platform: https://docs.gog.com/sdk-crossplay/#:~:text=To%20allow%20multiplayer%20connections%20between,the%20GOG%20GALAXY%20Multiplayer%20feature [External Link].

As long as Nintendo doesn't come after Ryujinx, it sounds like something I may checkout in the future when I get done with my never ending backlogs
