Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition has arrived and Steam Deck Verified

It's possible that they dock it and use the keyboard and mouse to play it or create key mappings using the trackpads and every button on the Steam Deck like some people do for RTS and FPS games.

this might be the first ever complex rpg I would consider for the Deck. I still to this day can't fathom how people can play stuff like bg3 on a tiny screen with a controller, but it remains one of the top played games. So I must be totally crazy. This games graphics won't stress the deck at all, and as long as the UI is decent with a controller scheme, it could be fun nostalgia.@R Daneel Olivaw

GeForce NOW on Steam Deck really can be a game-changer

Actually, you don't have to pay to use GFN because they do have a free account that allow you play for one hour but you have to wait in a queue with video ads. The way the free account works is that if you play for one hour and get booted off, you can replay the same game or any other game for another hour without any limitation.
If you pay for a Priority subscription, you can get faster access to playing your game for six hours of gameplay up to 1440p and if you get booted out after six hours, you can either replay the same game or choose a different game to play. If you want the best of everything, then you'd go Ultimate subscription for a higher fee that gives you eight hours of gameplay, raytracing, 4K and 240 fps. In both cases, there is a 100 hour limit (previously, there were no limits) that rolls over to 15 additional hours every month.
I use the free account often when I don't want to pay for a subscription to get faster access with the bells and whistles and I have enough patience to wait in a queue.

Besides, there is one great big negative to using GFN -- the ongoing subscription fee! You pay it whether or not you're able to use it ...@Caldathras

I remember reading about this back then when Geforce Now was new and these companies didn't like that you could stream your entire library of Steam games because they wanted a piece of the Nvidia pie when it comes to licensing. They want Nvidia to pony up money for a license to run the games the publishers want to allow on the service.
Here's a Reddit threat that someone asked about why they couldn't stream all their Steam games on Geforce Now: https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/comments/19018ca/why_cant_we_just_stream_any_game_we_own/ [External Link]

It's a shame you can now only play games that are approved. When it started you could play your whole library but publishers complained. I don't see why publishers should get to dictate what I play the games I've paid for on.@ObsoleteGaming

If you really want to try it out, there are guides out there that show you how to use FSR4 on Linux but official support is still ongoing and making some progress. Here's one video that shows how to get FSR4 on Linux: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajHRwWvem1M [External Link]

I actually like using Geforce Now for games that can't run well on the Steam Deck because of performance or anti-cheat reasons. Also, before they came out with a native app, I set it up using the steps that many website were using at the time that relied on the browser to make it work.
When I have time, I'll have to try the native app when I have time to set it up and see how much better it is compared to the setup I was using.

THE FINALS to get new kernel-based anti-cheat, devs say it will still work on Linux, SteamOS, Steam Deck
4 Jul 2025 at 2:42 pm UTC
I hope it stays that way because the last thing any Linux/Steam Deck user wants is to get the rug pulled under them when the cheating gets overwhelming and they have to resort to using kernel anti-cheats on Linux/Steam Deck. For now, I like that they're still supportive of Linux/Steam Deck despite not officially developing for the platform.

They just won't be using kernel-mode on Linux, same as now, because it's just not a thing.@Liam Dawe

Search engines are getting worse, so OpenWebSearch funded by the European Union want to fix it

I'm skeptical of this project because they'll have a hard time convincing a lot of people to use it, even if it's good. This is like the situation we see today, where Bluesky is an alternative for X/Twitter but isn't gaining a lot of traction to pull away anyone that's already using X/Twitter.
Now, what I hope doesn't happen is that the search engine becomes policed like the UK laws that affected sites like GamingOnLinux, where forums were removed and links and replies were disabled.

Have you ever tried to run Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions on the Steam Deck? Sometimes, there are games listed as Unplayable that end up working fine and I've tried this on a couple of Unplayable games that I own on Steam.

So far only one of the games I'm interested in has been unplayable on Deck, and that is Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions which was already kinda shoddy on my windows computer and probably just isn't fixed due to it being delisted. I hope someday proton happens to fix its issues by coincidence, but otherwise its been smooth sailing.@eev

Steam Deck sales still going strong over three years later

I'm happy to see that the Steam Deck continues to have strong sales after all these years and I hope they get to the point that they'll release Steam Deck 2 eventually.
Of course, the Switch 2 will more likely put a dent into the sales but then again, I'm not too bothered by it because the third party games they're now getting have been available on Steam for awhile or will simultaneously release day and date with the Switch 1 release and the cost of their games are $80, which I ain't paying that amount. Also, while it might not be the most powerful PC handheld, it still continues to play a lot of games well minus most of the major AAA UE5 games.
