Wouldn't have to be 360, something with a reasonable overscan (like 150°-180° maybe) would be sufficient since the screen refreshes that quickly anyways.
But this does sound like it could maybe even connect to a SteamPal then... interesting. I wonder if it will run Android or regular Linux on the headset itself though.

I wish they would release a non-snap, non .deb binary version though. given how many people use Manjaro/Arch or similar distros these days for gaming. (yes I am aware that snap works on Manjaro, but I am against snaps on principle that they use a centralized server for primary distribution.)
BOY BEATS WORLD is an overlooked fun and quirky rhythm action adventure

So I tried it a bit... not quite a Crypt of the Necrodancer, but catchy tunes and innovative game-play.
Make sure to enable the visible beat indicator in the setting as otherwise it is hard to figure out the latency. For me it requires hitting the button just slightly before my brain thinks it is the right time. Either that is an actual technical issue with keyboard input latency, or my brain is just a bit odd :)

OpenGL over Vulkan driver Zink gets a huge performance boost

Quoting: Kristian"or newer hardware only support Vulkan, which tbh, don't make much sense."AFAIK the development of Zink gets sponsored by Valve because in some specific containerized environments (Steam on Linux under ChromeOS) there is now Vulkan pass-through support, but no plans to ever support OpenGL.
It surely makes sense to use Zink to run OpenGL games(and other software) on hardware that only supports Vulkan and not OpenGL. As I understand it Zink basically is a way to support legacy software in a post-OpenGL world.

Oh, "criminally overlooked" indeed. Never heard of it and I am definitely interested in novel rhythm games. Thanks for sharing!

I think this is rather a preparation for Steam on Chromebooks as those will only support Vulkan and not OpenGL (maybe with Zink).

Release party was fun. 120+ people on the same server with very little lag and flying around in a giant airship ;)
What we want to see from the possible SteamPal handheld from Valve

Oh and funny to read your experience of Amazon in Norway, because at least in Germany even people that don't like Amazon grudgingly admit that ordering from them is fastest, most convenient and returning anything is super easy and customer friendly. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quoting: AppelsinThey need to be in *normal* stores. Everywhere. Being only on Amazon (and barely there even, at that) is what made the Steam Link and Controller a mere bog unicorn. You'd heard of it, but not really.Experiences obviously differ from country to country, but in the EU the purchase of Steamlink and Controller worked perfectly fine via the Steam store itself.

VR does work reasonably well on a PS4 and mobile VR ports from the Quest2 should work as well. I don't think Valve will make the SteamPal "VR-first", but I could imagine it being possible to connect an inside-out tracking HMD sometimes in the future.
However I would like to see a nice docking station that can also work as a SteamLink in stand-alone mode.
