Two really nice decisions:

  • "3:2 screen"

  • "great feeling keyboard with 1.5mm key travel."

Free and open source space sim 'Naev' has a big overhaul update out now

Playing it again after more than 8 years!

Graphically it improved a lot!
Just read a bit on the tutorial at first, and once you have killed the droid fun starts.
Congratulations to this free software project with steady development among the years

It is addicting, always one planet more.

I have to decide now if:
- buying the ancestor (to have a bit of combat fun, but I still have not the money)
- buying the koala (to do standard cargo missions and make money fast).

Quoting: FredrikNice! 10 more years and it will look like a tripple A title.
In 10 years you will not play any of the triple A games you are playing now. SuperTuxKart will continue its slow improvement for the generations to come.

Hi, I cannot run it in my Debian laptop.

It does not download the AppImage and installing appimagelauncher didn't help. Errors are:

"No mapping for file extension (.AppImage)"
"No manager for installer found"

Any help? thanks!

I finished this and Flight the Amazon Queen, playing its deb packages:

beneath-a-steel-sky
flight-of-the-amazon-queen

both are very good!

What have you been playing recently?

I started/ended Minit.

It is a pity because I just searched one thing on the internet.
It was not a big spoiler, just at what screen should I find that clue.
But I could have solved everything without external sources.

Quoting: NekomatataThank you! We were so happy and surprised to read this article.
We'll be tweaking the tutorials based on player feedback on our next update so this is great to see.

Hello Nekomatata

In my opinion you should decide if the game will have any similarities to real game.

If it's a topspin, then trajectory will be a parable
If it's a block, then will be linear
A block after a topspin is relatively easy to do if you are close to the table (timing is not very important)
A topspin against a topspin needs a very precise timing
an smash will be from top to down and it is very difficult if the ball has bounced very close to the player
the moment of the block will affect the trajectory ...
smashing a ball that has been cut is kind of suicide if you do not have a very precise timing and correct racket
cutting a cutted ball is easy
playing short or long is very important

playing backhand and forehand will be also nice.
left-right axis stuff will be also nice, but I think you will not implement this according to the perspective.

Cheers!

I am a table tennis player, and I did not understand at all!

I hope they do a more complete video or explanation :)

Maybe I am too focused on the game to understand this.

Hollow knight: discovered 100% of the world but there is still lots to do because I just have the Awoken dream nail.

Hollow knight is soooo good. Best Metroidvania ever!

And when I say ever, means: ever!, because I played Vampire Killer on MSX2 that was published approx at the same time than 1st Castlevania but less linear:

"While Vampire Killer shares the same premise, soundtrack, characters and locations as the original Castlevania, the structure of the game and its play mechanics differ significantly from its NES counterpart. Like Castlevania, Vampire Killer consists of 18 stages, with a boss encounter at the end of every third stage. But in contrast to the linear level designs in Castlevania, Vampire Killer features more labyrinth-like stages, requiring the player to not only seek out the exit to the next stage, but also the skeleton key required to unlock it."

  • Hollow Knight is great!!!

  • Rocket League great game, very bad on disappearing Linux support and all their in-game selling abuse.
