14 Feb 2015 at 3:10 pm UTC

Well the good news is now us AMD GPU guys can play! (Patch 1.4 released today.)

Down side is even on a 290x + 4790k the performance is erm, whats the word... Crap!

Thing is. I not convinced its the GPU/Driver that's at fault.

Edit, They have disabled the steam overlay it seems. No idea what fps is

Quoting: STiATNever played BL2 or The battle for Wesnoth, but 0AD and Civ5: well earned.
There's a reason why BL2 won ;)

Seriously, get it. Presuming it your type of game that is.

Only tested the Talos principle 2 days ago, If first impresions are anything to go be I think it will be epic. The graphics are stunning too. Performance seems good as well on the AMD card I have(290x)

Egosoft's X Rebirth Actively Being Ported To Linux

Yea! About time!!!!.

Sunk many an hour into the LGP port. Stopped after getting a amd card as it failed to start. When egosoft redid the x3:r port started to play again via steam, as well as X3:TC/AP. X3:R is still my fav.

ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Reviewed

Can't fault the roccat stuff, Mrs got me a XTD (2013) for my birthday, then got me a iskufx to go with it at xmass(2013) :D

Ok, I hinted a bit by pointing out the driver support plus looking at reviews

Just updated Mageia rpm with the help of one of their forum contributors as he has a XTD too( he did the initial rpm). Works real well, Have only a few buttons configured(There's bloody loads) Handy in borderlands and what not .

Treated my lad to the ryos MK glow iirc and a Tyon(spelling) this past xmass .
Weird looking mouse to me, but my lad loves it. So suppose that what matters. and yes he runs *nix too :)
His only gripe is it don't change colour like mine :D . Well I have to have something different don't I :P

Metro 2033 Redux & Metro Last Light Redux Launch On Linux, Sorta (UPDATED)

Wasn't being snappy Mohandevir, just don't feel its a distro problem as such, especially as other games are running fine.
Going on the steam forum posts it seems to be AMD in general :( Steam post here [External Link]

Could be fun, going to splash out on the new civ game. Wonder what that will run like. Should be fine being a Aspyr port. Not sure if it's my cup of tea though. But Linux support and all that!!!!

Metro 2033 Redux & Metro Last Light Redux Launch On Linux, Sorta (UPDATED)

mmm, Me a *buntu dont get along tbh. Am old school Mandrake user :D

Have tried the debian based distro's before and not had the best experience with them. To be frank I can't be arsed drive/distro hopping. The rest of my games do run fine all be it not on par with there windows counterparts.

The Roccat stuff is good I've found, the reason I chose them is because of the driver support they have thanks to Stefan Achatz that wrote the driver. Though I believe Roccat now helps him now.

Oh, and thanks for the comment of my setup ^_^ Took me and age to do....

Metro 2033 Redux & Metro Last Light Redux Launch On Linux, Sorta (UPDATED)

Quoting: HonorEDnlKThere are two user.cfg files, one is located in the game folder and the other one is where your saved games are, try editing your resolution on that one and it should work, there are other interesting configurations like tessellation but I haven't tried if it works yet. It seems that the game also runs at your native resolution so try changing your desktop's resolution before running the game.

I was getting smooth gameplay but I've reached open areas where the drop is noticeable, I'll have to lower my settings but I think that the Linux port still needs to be optimized.
Did both at the same time to make sure, Still no good. I know perf is crap on AMD compared to windows but I get the feeling this game just don't like AMD GPU's . Well in *nix anyway
