Can confirm with i3 its the same.
Yeah, I'm using i3 and have the same issue. They had a few issues open on GitHub which were closed, with the devs just telling people to install GNOME. This is why I no longer use Lutris, it seems they added GNOME as a mandatory dependency. Shame because it's really, really cool.
Fixed with

sudo pacman -S gnome-desktop python-pillow

gnome-desktop is actually a 500kb lib not the entire Gnome de :D

What??? I spent weeks trying to get the damn game to work under Wine to no avail... I'll give it a shot with Proton now and see how it fairs.
