Egosoft to launch X4: Foundations on November 30th, hopefully with a Linux beta build

Quoting: GuestToo bad the system requirements are pretty steep.... It requires a supercomputer to run. A Haswell quad core, 8gb ram, and an Nvidia GTX 970 (!!!!) as MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.... Seriously? A freaking 970 is considered "minimum"? And to think it is Vulkan-only... Imagine if it was D3D11/OpenGL....

By the way for the people mentioning Star Citizen, Star Citizen is vaporware. It will never be released, and even if it will, it will be Garbage. The writing is on the wall... X4 just can't be worse than this...

In what universe is a Haswell and a 970 classed as a supercomputer today

And to be fair I don't think anything lower from NV supports Vulkan

X3: Reunion, X3: Terran Conflict and X3: Albion in that order though personally X3:R is still the best one followed by Albion Prelude.

X£:r has the Extended mod on steam too which gives you extended starts ect

Quoting: KelsI tried to play X3: Reunion, and it was utterly unplayable due to a rolling bug that set my ship spinning unless I actively held it in place. It was reported to the devs by a number of people, but to the best of my knowledge never fixed.

Hopefully they're a little more responsive with this one.

Have LOT of hours in X3:r and never had this issue!

Think i'd be unplugging any game pads/sticks and seeing if it still happens

Quoting: pete910Wonder if this will fix Dying light for non *butu users ?

And before anyone chimes in with " you just need to add..." They don't work!

DL wasn't working on Ubuntu 18.04 with Mesa 18.1, but using Mesa 18.2RC made it work (for me and many others, I think). So, try to test it and share your results.

I thought the problem with DL was with the new version of glibc?

Arrrh that's right, damn!

Just tried with the Arch testing packages.... No go.
I'll look into it a bit more, time permitting.

Looks like it is a glibc issue. :'(

The constant bitching about DLC makes me laugh and a little sad, There's nothing forcing people to by the DLC and the base game is still good.

Funny how a few years ago we were all moaning about no games on linux to moaning about DLC!

On a side note, the DLC is still playable without purchase in a multiplayer game if the host has the relevant DLC!

Have over 400 hrs in it, 99% spent in multiplayer and cant fault Paradox for the continued support and on our platform too!

And yes I have all the DLC, why you may ask, Because I enjoy the damn game!!!!!

Quoting: F.UltraJust upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04LTS from 16.04 and Dying Light crashes after the loading screen. So I guess that the rumours that I heard on Phoronix that this is somehow related to a new version of glibc might be true.

Hey, I was with the same problem and think that was something with glibc. But compiling Mesa 18.2 RC3 solved the issue. Dying Light works as used to with latest Mesa drivers (well, maybe better as it works without the start parameters).

Think I'll just hang back and wait for 18.2 to release. Hope it is fixed. Do we know if they are doing a linux client for their upcoming game ?
