Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is officially coming to SteamOS & Linux, port by Feral Interactive

Quoting: nocriI don't think that it'll use Vulkan -- feral main source of income is OSX, so it is obvious that they will put an effort to learn how to write performant apps using Metal, however, Linux userbase is too small, so I don't they will make an effort to learn Vulkan when openGL (at least for them) will make the trick. The only option is if there exists translation layer Metal->Vulkan (the other way around than MoltenVK).

Or maybe I am wrong ;-)
This is run so bad if they use OpenGL. It is way too heavy on DX as it is.

CD PROJEKT RED replied to me about The Witcher 3 and Linux, flat-out denying to answer any questions

Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's probably Valve's fault, so I don't know what all the hate for CDPR is. Valve announced The Witcher III was being ported for Linux, not CDPR. My guess is Valve blew the lid off something that was never definitive and then CDPR had to take all the blame. I mean, they never announced it on GoG, did they?

Buy games from G2A? You should just stop already, tinyBuild lost out on approx $450K of sales

It's way to late here for me to read all comments, so I apologize if this has already been said. I can agree as far as keys bought with stolen credit cards go, this is bad and should be prevented. However, I am completely against developers preventing people from selling excess keys, which is exactly what they want to do. It's a free market and if I have a spare key I should be able to sell it.

Cities: Skylines - Match Day, a free DLC to add a Stadium to your city

Always nice to see free new content, but I do wonder why it wasn't a patch. Seems weird to add such small things into a DLC especially when it's free.
Probably because it is related to the Euro Cup and they wanted it to be noted :)

Things I feel Valve need to address to help SteamOS really be something fantastic

I'm very much on the "what's the point of SteamOS" boat. It has all the shortcomings of a Linux distribution - crap drivers, bad performance and small game library. However, it has none of the advantages - flexibility, customizartion, additional software (not without tinkering). I've tried it and found it objectively terrible. Thanks, but no thanks.

8 out of the 10 current most popular Steam games support Linux

Until the terrible performance difference is fixed, they can port the entire Steam library to Linux and it still won't matter. Drivers with equal performance to Windows. Not close, not acceptable, not almost - equal. And getting rid of OpenGL like yesterday. Until there is performance parity between Windows and Linux, nothing else matter. Still, that's a lot of progress compared to 4-5 years ago, I'll give you that.

The art style I like a lot. But am I the only one who thinks the animations are awful?

Steam makes an attempt to fix up their review system

Ah - if only the Steam client supported such plugins!
Unlikely - it would be a security risk, I imagine.

Quoting: BeamboomThey should implement real reviews to the interface instead, that'd be a vast improvement in my opinion.
The metascore rating seems to be optional for the publisher - I wish it was mandatory, with a tabbed option to see "user reviews" or "professional reviews".

Feral Interactive are teasing yet another Linux & Mac port on their radar

Quoting: VlozThat's sounds ugly, but I personally prefer a lot of rushed ports with bad perf than a few optimized ones.
I mean, if your current pc isn't strong enough to play TR, at least your next pc will. I dont think that comparing windows/linux framerate is the priority right now when i see the tons of games i m awaiting on linux.
-Personally- I totally agree with you. I couldn't care less if a game only runs with 50 FPS in Linux but would run with 100 FPS in Windows. What matters to me is that it runs in Linux at all.

But this is not how a mainstream gamer thinks. These people fork out hundreds of dollars for graphics cards more expensive than the rest of their PCs just to make a game run with 110 FPS rather than 100, pointless as it might be. You won't be able to convince them to switch to Linux as long as they get even minimal better performance in Windows. But if we want to see more AAA games on Linux and more developers supporting it, getting more attractive for mainstream gamers is what needs to be done.
Yeah, f*ck people with mid and low range GPUs *sarcasm*
