Gig economy firefighter parody 'Embr' has a new game mode

Quoting: scaineAlong with Gunfire Reborn, Embr is one of the titles I've had my eye on for some multiplayer with my sons. It looks like a lot of fun, although the Early Access banner is putting me off (same with Gunfire). I also wish games like this sold a 4-pack on Steam. Even a small discount on a multi-buy often motivates me to pull the trigger on a good co-op game. But neither of these titles offer it, which is a shame.
It does offer a 4-pack on Humble Store [External Link] (partner link) though. Humble often has these where Steam does not, weirdly.

NVIDIA open sourced part of NVAPI SDK to aid 'Windows emulation environments'

Quoting: DMJCSure this isn't aimed more at getting NVIDIA GPU emulation working in Virtual machines such as Qemu/KVM/VMWare? VMWare uses WINE's DirectX implementation to support DirectX.
No, I spoke to a few people to confirm before publishing. Including NVIDIA.

Quoting: KimyrielleWhy is that NOT surprising, coming from the same company who needed about a year after the Windows release to deliver the promised Bards Tale IV port. "Difficult decision"...lol...it's just how these people operate.
Please stop making things up to bandwagon on the hate train. The Linux port for BT4 was available right around release. It was very buggy though and it wasn't fully playable for a few weeks afterwards. I know this because I played both the Windows and Linux versions before release and after release.
Actually, Kimyrielle is correct on that. When released, The Bards Tale IV was in a poor state and wasn't reviewed too well. Linux was entirely missing too. Linux only came with the Director's Cut, released like a year later. So we did have to wait quite a while on it.

Stadia round-up with F1 2020 out now, Celeste and El Hijo confirmed plus leaks
10 Jul 2020 at 4:13 pm UTC

Yeah, looking over comments it seems Wheel support isn't even online on Windows/Chrome either, it's not a Linux issue it seems Stadia just doesn't currently support Wheels. I would be surprised if Wheel users took up a large percentage though, the games are popular sure but Wheels I think are still a niche.

Google's UI toolkit Flutter comes to the Linux desktop with help from Canonical
8 Jul 2020 at 8:24 pm UTC

Quoting: TheSHEEEPDoes it actually work on Windows?
If not, the use of it will be really quite limited.
Cross-platform only for Android & Linux isn't exactly a common use case.

Looked it up, no it doesn't. Desktop is Linux & MacOS only. At least on desktop, that's extremely limiting.
It's expanding to support both web and desktop, just Linux is being announced now since Canonical jumped in early. Windows is an obvious goal for them too but they've needed to gradually refactor it for mouse input and all the rest you expect in desktop builds.

I have already reported the issue [External Link] to the itch crew.

Dying Light - 66% off - With the upcoming Hellraid DLC (see our preview), it's going to get even more fun.
Is it supposed to be working well on Linux ?
I’m only getting a black screen with a white line at the bottom, like a loading something.
I thought maybe it’s just long to load, but it’s 10 minutes now, so it’s more like a crash i guess ?

Linux Manjaro (Arch) 64bits Xfce
Intel Core i5 4590 (4 x 3,3 GHz)
GeForce GTX 1060 @ 6 Go
Nvidia Drivers
16 Go DIMM DDR3 PC12800
SSD Crucial 480Go
BENQ GL2460 16/9 24" 1920x1080
Run it with the Steam Linux Runtime. Right click -> Properties -> Tick the Steam Play box and pick Steam Linux Runtime. It's the container system for Linux builds, as it seems something on Arch/Manjaro is conflicting with it preventing it running properly. The container fixes it :)
