Quoting: GuestIf global stats can be messed up so easily, then it's not exactly a very good system is it. I still remember the days where games came with cheats out of the box, often in the manual and it was a very normal and accepted thing. Now people are far too quick to judge.Quoting: Liam DaweWhile it's not particularly harmful and game-breaking for anyone else, it still skews global achievement statistics which are useful for real achievement hunters.Quoting: ageresUgh, cheating software...That seems like quite a small-minded thing to say about it. Changing your own personal achievements affects no one else.
And IMO buggy achievements are not an excuse for such tools - bugs should be reported to developers, not workarounded by essentially "cheating" tool which breaks stats for everyone. Especially when it's not a really game-breaking bug.

Quoting: BeamboomNo VR games to look forward to? It's all VR for me nowadays!I simply don't follow VR as I don't have it, so I wouldn't expect much VR from GOL any time soon.

Quoting: SpirimintThis sounds very cool for kids.If you can be a bit clearer on what exactly you're looking for, we can try to help.
Hope its ok to ask here, but are there any programms out there to learn programming on linux without using the classic way, which i found boring and stopped after a week.
There should be a way to learn the codes and in the same time you start to program a game.
I checked out the programs mentioned for the contest and this does not look like real coding or am i wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Stylish literary mystery Sarawak will be in the Steam Game Festival

Quoting: GuestI don't want to be polemic, but everytime i read "stylish" on a GOL headline, i expect something with schematic graphic and poor graphic content.Like everything, it's subjective. You are free to disagree but if I think something is, I will say it so :). It's just another way of saying it looks good, and I think it really does. Again, subjective, since you would first need to appreciate such a literary adventure.
My main language is italian, so i went to learn better what stylish means in english, and here's what i found:
Google:
"fashionably elegant and sophisticated."
Cambridge English Dictionary:
"1. of a high quality in appearance, design, or behaviour
2. of a high quality in appearance…."
I don't really think Sarawak can be defined "stylish".
Is it just me?

Quoting: Sojiro84It would probably become a nightmare of admin for Valve though, which is why they don't do it. Think of how many games would suddenly do a quick and poor job, just to get their name in the ring for a reduced cut. It would cause a lot more issues than it would solve I think. As much as I would like to see Valve do it.Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI suggest Valve that Windows only games must have the current 30% cut, but games with a Linux version should have only a 5% cut...I literally was thinking that this morning while reading this article. I mean, with such a low steam cut for the Linux version, I am sure many developers would make their game in such a way that it was extremely easy to port it.

Proton also doesn't even work with Civ VI.

Quoting: lqe5433Proton is too good. It's killing the Linux porting business.Linux ports from porting companies slowed way before Proton, it's the tail-end of Steam Machines not working out which is why all of the major porters got involved originally. It's not being caused by Proton entirely.

Quoting: wintermuteIt works fine on my laptop too, which is pretty low-powered. I did show this before [External Link].Quoting: SeegrasI looked at a few pages about stadia; it somehow does look as if it works badly on Linux, because Chrome lacks a load of features, like accelerated video decompression, right?Works great for me, though I have an i7 so plenty of horsepower to do software decoding. There is a build of Chromium with hardware acceleration enabled so if you have a lower spec machine you could try that. In any case, it costs you nothing but time (and some personal information if you don't already have a Google account) to give Stadia a try right now and find out how it runs on your machine.

Multiplayer was not tested yet, as our preview was before release without others available. We have no reason to doubt it.

Update [External Link]:
Hey everyone. Sorry for the delay in answering, but I'm sure you can imagine the chaos we've been through in preparation for this.
I'll be on point - Serious Sam 4 won't be available natively on Linux on launch. What happens later, we don't know. We're currently focused on Windows and if that changes we'll let everyone know.
