Please for my sanity and for moderation, don't quote ridiculous conspiracy theories. I've removed a user, and will be cleaning up the comments. This is not the place for stupid conspiracy stuff about the US, Germany, Russia etc etc etc.

Buy rude games on Steam without fear - Valve rolls out enhanced privacy

Quoting: LiamWe all know why Valve added the private game feature don't we? There's a rising amount of sex games on Steam, so it was inevitable really.
Just saying, there are also LGBTQ+ oriented games that you might not want your friends to see. I'm surprised it took them 20 years to add such a simple privacy feature.
Now if only I could add games to my wishlist too without it immediately becoming front page of the New York Times...
Yeah, there's a great many reasons people may not want others to know everything they're buying. Just a good feature to have overall.

Quoting: EhvisThe interesting thing will be what they do next. The code to both has been preserved and deleting all mirrors is something even Nintendo money can accomplish. So it's only a matter of time until builds will pop up somewhere (possibly under a different name). Will Emudeck pull those in?
I think the EmuDeck developers would be pretty stupid if they did pull in some fork, they would be opening themselves up to lawsuits for facilitating what has already been basically declared illegal.
The case was settled. Nothing was declared illegal.
I think you understand what I am saying though. Maybe illegal is not specifically the right word, but the settling and the statement make it pretty clear it's tainted and should not be distributed by anyone.

Quoting: mrdeathjrLiam Dawe this update also phoronix have same error dont have relation directly with performance, have more relation with game stability aka suddenly crashes

Quoting: PenglingWell, Bomberman's job is to bring peace to the entire universe, so there's a bit of "dinosaur who eats forcefield dogs"-style one-upmanship for you!
What's that? Bomberman discovered oil? Sounds like we need to bring some freedom.

Game over for Roblox on Linux / Steam Deck as it's now blocked
1 Mar 2024 at 6:55 pm UTC Likes: 2

Quoting: PenglingHey, Liam, I have a question, since I don't recall it being addressed in any of the recent articles about this, though it did come up in one a while back: Does this mean they're now blocking their game-creation suite on Linux as well, or are they happy to leverage child-labour for that whilst not letting them actually play what they create on Linux? They weren't blocking the creation tools before.
AFAIK the creation side does not have the anti-cheat, so it should work, but naturally it has no support at all.

All older games being sold in Germany on Steam now require a content rating
1 Mar 2024 at 6:36 pm UTC Likes: 2

Quoting: pbWait so Germans can't buy any of the new small indie games that don't have a rating?
Valve haven't said specifically that games will stop being sold, but at some point they would have to for games that don't have a rating considering the ratings body in Germany has said pretty clearly they should. But it should only take game devs a few minutes to do via Steam directly.
