I am excited for this release! Will definitely purchase this at full price as a "Thank you" because The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings apologists insist that bringing such old games to Linux natively is not worth the effort.

Quoting: oldrocker99In the Hall of Fame is Bioware, who released a still-good native port of Neverwinter Nights back in 2003.Wish it would appear on GOG already.

GOG does not even have the Mac OS client up yet. I doubt it, but perhaps GOG is waiting for the Linux client to release first so that it can upload both clients at once.

Just A Friendly Reminder: Don't Buy A Game Until It Is Officially On Linux. This seems to apply here quite a bit considering the situation with Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

I could not get into League of Legends. Tried DOTA2 1 year later and now have nearly 800 hours clocked in. With 1 MOBA taking up so much time, I highly doubt I will try another.

With GOG taking ages to add Linux clients of games it sells that have Linux clients elsewhere, with the absolutely devastating launch of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on Linux, and now this as well, I am leaning more and more toward just buying the games I want on Steam. Steam may not be open source, it may offer DRM, but it is treating Linux like a first class citizen and has improved the Linux ecosystem tremendously. Steam on Linux is what started and is continuing to advance the movement to make Linux a capable operating system for gaming. Perhaps it is time I offered it the attention it deserves instead of hoping for GOG to meet demand with supply.
