Quoting: ageresI can't tell you why, but I have that impression as well. I guess it comes from the DYI and "it doesn't have to look good because it's free" mentality that was prevalent in the community some years back. It's changed a lot now, but the things people have etched in their brains are not easy to root out.Quoting: rustybroomhandleThe word "Linux" was so toxic once upon a timeWhy?

I wouldn't mind if it were Dark Souls Remastered. There are lava levels there (the Demon Ruins someone else mentioned a few pages back followed by Lost Izalith) very similar to what the image shows. Plus, it's an awesome game which has just recently had a release on Windows and consoles. Fits right in.

This is seriously tempting, but I'll need to see more photos before I can make any decision. The one photo they show looks OK I guess, but if other laptops from them are anything to go by, it won't look or feel high quality. It's not helping that I'm coming from a decade of buying Apple hardware (and installing Linux on them)...

Some pretty broken English there, I hope the game has better writing. Stuff like this puts me off immensely, I gave up (at least for now) on the otherwise excellent Crossing Souls because of it.
It's published by 11bit studios (This War of Mine and the upcoming Frostpunk), who seem very Linux-friendly, nice to see some companies view us favourably.

Quoting: EikeIt was in Win95 already, back in pre-ATX days when turning your computer on/off was done with a hard switch supplying and cutting power to the mobo. The standard was called AT. Perhaps Win98 had that functionality still, but I was fully on ATX hardware by that time.Quoting: chancho_zombiethen you think I'm just going to shut it off so it stops and it won't let you (please don't turn off your computer). When Windows, I think it was Windows 98, started to tell "You can shutdown your Computer now", I was joking one day the computers would tell us we must not shutdown them. Well, here we are... ;-)

I played it on PSP back when it was a thing. It's really great; I liked it enough to go for all endings. It had very good surround audio when using headphones; I wonder whether that's been preserved here. Highly recommended.

And now I have to buy it, not least because they made a Polish camouflage pack for some reason, not that I'm complaining.
It looks very cool. I need to dig up my Thrustmaster HOTAS set. I wonder if it'll work with Linux. I will certainly need to get a joystick port to usb adapter.

Quoting: HoriThe term piracy as pertains to copyright infringement has been in use long before the internet came about. Some 400 years before.Quoting: GuestCan we as Linux users forget about "piracy"? Illegal downloading is not equal to taking a ship violently (and likely killing everybody/taking hostage on board)! I really don't like that we still use the Microsoft (Ballmer/Gates) lingo. The term piracy was invented because browsing the internet was called in the past as "Navigating the web", or similar things. Who are the "thieves" who navigate? The pirates. Hence, internet piracy.
About the above method: why not buy on GOG directly then? I "bought" (khm. they offered freely) Torchlight I, and it works through Wine.
