Hell has officially froze over.. Glorious day though and looking forward to being on the same graphics stack as AMD and Intel MESA :) Even though atm its still using Nvidias OpenGL/Vulkan stack but I foresee eventually it will be like amdgpu being able to either use mesa or Nvidias closed source stack..

Taking a look at their blog post they reference Nouveau being able to use parts of this driver now its open source so mostly likely if you want mesa Nouveau will be the way to go and if you want Nvidias OpenGL/Vulkan you just use their driver.. either way this would work the same as the amdgpu driver basically giving us choice.. personally once Nouveau intergrates into this new code I will be swapping to that :)

For me the glory days of Halo was Halo 3 which can be played on MCC at least (single-player) I can't recall if they ever sorted out the multiplayer issue with EAC.

I would love to play some Halo on my Linux, but it seems like development has been a car-crash in terms of delivering to fans as it is with no plans for DLC or community building / seasons from the get-go.

If they do it, I'll totally play.

They working on EAC now for Linux. they added the Linux file to make it work but at the same time mistakenly published an old EAC build that doesn't work. so for now you have to delete the EAC Linux file to be able to play single player. hopefully they fix the EAC build in next update for MCC

No amount of work done to the AMD driver's will change that as it's up to Microsoft to actually reverse the API changes (highly unlikely).

If you check the github issue on proton some folks have gotten the game to load kinda of buggy but fact is the changes need to happen in proton/WINE and the rest of the stack.

Nice can't wait for this to hit and Lutris to add a runner or heck even for a core to be made in Retroarch once its opensource. Lutris makes a great game manager IMO

well once they add support to VKD3D seems to me Nvidia should work also see as that is an Nvidia VK extension. heres to hoping hoping as Infinite is about the only game I have been booting into windows for lol

Totally... Zealots in both camps that repeat the prefab craps from lobbies and not realising they are being manipulated, thinking they know better. The waaaaayyyyyy too loud minority that's occupying 95% of the public space turned me away from social platforms, a while ago. :sick:

I have a Facebook account and barely use it anymore. Never used any of the other platforms... Aside from Twitter and Facebook, I would have a hard time naming them.

yep Zealots on both sides are what drives me away from any platform. I don't lean either way but I don't mind convos with people but once ya start trying to shove your beliefs down peoples throats and censoring everyone doesn't agree then there is a problem

Hmm Mastodon to far leaning to one side itself which is why I have refused to use it as I have Twitter. Political crap drives me away from any of these platforms. be nice to have a place that is not a echo chamber.

2022 has been the year so far I have been able to use Linux as my main OS, I have been doing alot of distro hopping since 2022 started but 99% of my gaming has been on Linux this year so far and by far most of my games work on Linux now other then games with anti-cheat.. this is the first time I have been able to say this.

I do think Windows days of being the preferred gaming platform are numbered.. it may take years still for the gaming crown to be taken from windows but I do think its coming within the decade thanks to steam :)
