I have this game and actually had it working in Wine even before SteamPlay. It's not without its issues, even on Windows, but it's worth picking up on sale. They've made so many significant updates that it almost seems like a different game than the original release.

Quoting: aristoriasI appreciate the dictionary definition at the end. lol I just know some people's idea of "flawlessly" means a steady 30 fps (i.e. Ubisoft "Cinematic" speed), which would not be mine. I was just curious about specifics. I'll definitely check this game out. I liked the previous ones.Quoting: melkemindIt runs smooth as butter without any stuttering or issues. I have constant high framerates except rarely a little on the map when too much is going on. And there's nothing negative that could be traced back to the linux port. If there is an issue it's probably rather the game itself.Quoting: aristoriasIt is a great game and runs flawlessly on an R7 2700 with Vega 56 (radv) and Ultra settings.Do you mind defining "flawlessly" for me?
It deserves way better reviews than it actually gets.
So pretty much like that:
adverb: flawlessly
in a manner free from imperfections or defects; perfectly.
"the system works flawlessly"

I was hoping we'd get this feature, although I didn't expect it so soon. The good thing about it is that it's easy to turn on and off if you only want it on for games.

Maybe I'm just hoping for the best, but this seems like just an omission or maybe bad English. Why would they need to offer you the option to change your platform if the alternative option wasn't a refund? If there were no second option, the wording would be, "Mac and Linux users will receive the Windows version instead." I could be wrong, of course.

Looks awesome! I'll wait until it leaves Early Access though.

I remember way back when S2 released "Savage: The Battle for Newerth". Their trailer was so very attractive, but I probably only played the game once. It was exciting that something so fancy-looking had Linux support but ultimately just not the kind of game I liked. Apparently, many people did like it though. It's a shame the new company isn't as Linux friendly.

Quoting: Xpandera bit late port to a game that hasn't been successul and is mediocre at the best. I guess at least a game thats not grand strategy on the list :)You really just made that up, didn't you? :D It has "generally favorable" reviews and has even won awards. I obviously don't have sales numbers but the fact they're going ahead with a port would suggest it has solid sales numbers as well.
Hoping DiRT Rally 2.0 port will be day one or relly close to release though.
X4: Foundations for Linux will not see a beta at release today, still coming though

Quoting: GuestFrom what I read in the reviews, it sounds like the X3 fans are pleased with the gameplay, while they managed to keep some of the good features from X: Rebirth. Most of the negative reviews are related to performance. It seems like it's a buggy mess right now.Quoting: GuestIt's no Rebirth (apart from buggy release, which works in our favour having to wait), I recommend checking actual footage from the like of ObsidianAnt rather than Steam reviews.Quoting: kfI'm really tempted to try this out with Proton, but I should really just wait. I also have several exams coming up soon.https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2045 [External Link]
Reading the reviews for the game I'm not in any kind of hurry to buy this, I wanted an improved version of X3, not an improved version of X: Rebirth.
