The Starlight Children's Foundation Bundle has a really odd selection

Took me a few minutes to realize I needed to add Pinball FX3 (which is free) to my library prior to adding the keys for any of the pinball bundles. Sheesh.

Also, Pinball FX3 is rated silver on ProtonDB but that seems to be heavily weighted by entries that are two years old. All recent reviews and from my few minutes of play make it seem like it should be platinum.

No need to wait on Valve, the Steam Deck Docking Station from JSAUX is great

I've got a Dell docking station for my home work setup and it works really well, but doesn't look as good as that or keep the Deck upright. Also cost my employer almost $200USD.

Minecraft - The Wild Update is out now, Java & Bedrock now one purchase

I work in IT and attended a Microsoft event where they were giving steep discounts for a lot of software and I picked up Minecraft for $3USD (a good deal for sure)...then I realized it was the Windows Store version. I've launched it once back when I was occasionally dual-booting and that was it.

Now if only the Windows Store purchase included the Java version

Ah, I am an idiot. I thought Bedrock and Win Store versions were different.

A round-up of our Steam Deck content — the videos keep coming

I'd be interested to see how it performs docked. I have a couple Dell USB-C docks and really hope that's a viable way to play.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive updated, more tweaking for Steam Deck + Vulkan

Tried it on two different distros using mesa on my 5700xt and got instant crashes. I'll have to do some more investigating, but if anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate it.

Humble Bundle decides you need another launcher for parts of Humble Choice

Quoting: TuxeeJust got this mail

We want to give you a heads up that starting February 1, Mac and Linux versions of the DRM-free games currently in the Humble Trove will no longer be available.

As a Humble Choice member, you can still download them to keep for your personal collection until January 31. Windows PC versions of many of these games will still be available to download in the upcoming Humble app, alongside the brand-new Humble Games Collection.
Yeah, just got that as well. I was supposed to have three months of Humble Choice for $6, but the cost had shot up to $19.99 so I promptly cancelled and I think that's it for me. Humble Bundle was so great 10 years back. Sooo disappointing to see its slow descent into mediocrity.

certain areas seemingly at random fail to load
Yeah, I get that as well. Also video occasionally just doesn't load and requires a refresh of the page. In an attempt to de-Google my life, I've switched fully to Firefox and it's been a MOSTLY good experience.

Ubisoft are keeping an eye on the Steam Deck, will release on it if it's big enough

When the first Humble Bundle started, I bought every bundle and owned damn near every Linux native game I could get ahold of and I thought it was finally happening. Then Steam started supporting Linux and I thought NOW it's finally happening. Then SteamOS, Proton, and Steam Deck. Went from only a handful of opensource games and a couple commercial games back in the early 2000's to an almost endless number.

I now have waaaaay more games than I will ever be able to play and am a *little* concerned about the planned move-in of my girlfriend and her finding out exactly how into videogames I am. Definitely downplayed it a bit so far.

Looks like Trust Factor in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Linux is fixed for Mesa

Well that explains why after switching from an nvidia card to AMD it takes over an hour to join a Blacksite Danger Zone game that ends up being nearly all hackers.

*EDIT* Tested it out and I can now instantly get into a Danger Zone game that doesn't appear to be all hackers. Hurray

The final version of the free FPS, Wolfenstein: Blade of Agony, is out now with Chapter 3
