I think I have tried several times to start this, but I think it is the learning curve. It is more like Minecraft with more complexities, than it is Elite Dangerous.

How about the Linux desktop though? How does it run?

Well, it's a little quirky.
So much for the theory that "Steam Deck Approved" is synonymous with "Linux Approved".
Yeah, I have had the opposite happen, where someone had a wiki on getting NWN2 to work on the Deck, couldn't get it working there, but launches without issue on the desktop.

Quoting: tamodoloFedora 36 is the first Linux release that actually solves input delay to be on pair with windows. They did this unintentionaly as it was an issue related to touchpads. I am extremely happy by this fix as FINALY FINALY Linux is starting to move forward instead of just doing sidesteps and go anywhere.
I'm following this release and didn't read anything about this, looks like gnome improved the way that it handles input to be on par to the FPS and not to the refresh rate.

What fedora 36 have to make it different?
You need to search in the complete changelog. A friend pointed they did that after reading it and said probably it was it when I mentioned that DS4 was working on pair with windows now.
Is this the key thing? "DS4 was working on pair with windows now"? So your problem was that the input lag existed when using a Dual Shock 4 controller? I think I've only used it once or twice on mine. I'm guessing this is without a wired connection?

Bluetooth is... still pretty shit on Linux. Though they have miraculously tweaked / fixed it on the Steam Deck.
Yeah. Input lag and consistency with gamepads on Linux is very very bad. I'm waiting SteamOS 3 to be released for PC to test it.
I actually haven't had a lot of issues with gamepads, but I tend to mostly use wired ones, with the exception of the Steam Controller.

BT audio is where I have issues.

Quoting: ShabbyXI remember I sucked hard at Diablo. I could never finish it. Diablo 2, I also sucked but at least I could get through to the end.

Then I played Diablo 3, which was rather easy, and so boring (500 yellow items to be identified one by one, each taking 4 seconds? What were they thinking?) So I decided to go back and play Diablo. Man, they had it *right*! Blue drops were so rare, it was so exciting to see one. You couldn't wait to get it identified. Same with Yellow items on Diablo 2. Diablo 3 just threw garbage after garbage legendary items at you. No excitement at all for getting them.

Anyway, rant over. I hope divelutionX doesn't force you to click the mouse for every attack :)
Diablo 3 is so boring, to this day I couldn't finish the story line, because it was just too easy. Even continually cranking up the difficulty to the maximum every time we'd level, my brother and I just got bored.

Proton 7.0-4 is coming to bring more compatibility to Linux and Steam Deck

Quoting: tfkFound this explanation on the case insensitive feature of ext4.

https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/616133 [External Link]

I'm thinking of modding, skyrim for example, where many authors do use different casing for file names. If the article is right then this could be a performance issue in case a file is not found. And of course non working mods.

As for the question why this is needed: thank Microsoft.
Yeah, Apple also defaults to non-case sensitive. It infuriates me to no end. What are we, savages?

Should I just start typing with nO case SENSitive things sO that everyThiNg can randoMly Be uppEr and LOWER? 😜

Pretty sure this is the same reason that storing Linux games on an NTFS filesystem in Linux breaks things.

Quoting: PhlebiacI don't think Steam Deck supports it? If I understand correctly, it uses ext4.
It uses Btrfs, but I forgot that it's only for / - the library is on a (case insensitive) ext4 partition, so yeah, not applicable there.
Wait, what? It is case insensitive? That is the grossest thing I have ever heard...

Still irritated to shit that macOS isn't case sensitive. What is this, 1980?

Tesla to demo Steam for more in-car gaming soon using Linux & Proton

Quoting: slaapliedjeAccording to a friend who bought one, and my own opinion having ridden in one, the Teslas aren't really fit for driving anyhow.
How so?

Quoting: 14I don't see this as a good idea. When are people going to use it?
Some of Tesla's entertainment features can only be accessed while parked, and are meant to pass time while charging. I imagine this is one of those.
The suspension, even after all of the extras he tried to put on, was pretty terrible. You'd hit a pothole, aand know a baby feels when being cared for by an impatient teenager...

One disappointment I found last night was that Neverwinter Nights 2 works perfectly fine on my Debian desktop with nvidia and Heroic Game Launcher with nothing besides selecting the 7-20 GE version.

I tried doing this howto, without much luck.

Multiversus is the first game in a while that made me play several online matches against randos in a row. Ton of fun, but damn, characters are expensive. I start considering buying a pack for it, because some characters do really really interest me and I kind of want to skip the work. This is a first for me, I thought I was immune to monetization schemes :D
From what I heard the characters couldn't be opened by playing (only cosmetics can), but only by paying and somebody came up with price 255$ [External Link] for all characters in the game.
I think I priced out all characters and costumes for Dead or Alive (5 or 6?) At like 3 grand... disgusting, really.
