You won't get the full finger tracking of the Index but apart from that it'll work.

Quoting: GuestMight be the wrong place to ask, but I want to play Half Life Alyx as intended. Is there a VR system that works well with Linux that perhaps is a bit less than the $1k price tag of the Valve index?Used HTC Vive off ebay.

The game itself feels very familiar, in a good way, same gameplay but there are some interesting new species of Goo. It feels more difficult than I remember the first one being but levels are skippable if you just want to push ahead.

Quoting: EikeWho tries it before I buys it? ;)I bought it, the Linux version is an AppImage and it works perfectly. Purchase goes through the Humble Store which is convenient.

It's strange, I've had to opt out of the Steam Client beta to get the SteamVR beta to run at all.
Now SteamVR Home doesn't launch because it's "unable to load libpangoft2-1.0.so".

It's better than I expected, with the RTX settings as low as they will go and DLSS set to Performance, I get 30-40 FPS @ 1440p with an RTX 2080.
