Now all we need is Microsoft to force steam games to sign in through their store system, now that would be funny as all hell! (that originally got valve pushing for SteamOS Linux in the first place)

As amusing as it may be, I do not wish for any further lock down even for those on closed platforms. Even then, I doubt many PC gamers would care enough to make any change.

In my experience, you get them often if you constantly build and change computers, test hardware configurations, reinstall OSes. Something about big sweeping changes probably, but I could be wrong.

I have not abandoned Steam although they have been demoted to my #3 source of games after #1 GOG and #2 Itch.io. I hardly sign into it anymore, starting off the new year DRM-free.

For some people it is games > freedom. Of course, on the AMD side of the coin, AMD forces their victims customers to install proprietary firmware-amd-graphics to be able to fully run their GPUs.
