Framework reveal new laptop with modular graphics, plus an AMD Ryzen model

My current laptop is exactly 10 years old. I reeeealy want the AMD 13" version of this. Keen to hear some reviews when they get enough AMD chips to actually build them.

The price seems reasonably competitive for what you get.

I played Last Campfire on desktop Proton and really enjoyed it. Very smooth.

Looks like a good bundle!

I'm far too excited about Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania

Quoting: Jarmerthe repetitive nature of the rouge-like design killed all interest in it for me very quickly.
Yeah. This game has great level design and combat mechanics, but I just can't do the rogue-thing. I am glad that other people like it, but I have never found a rogue-something that I could tolerate for more than an hour before dumping it.

I kinda fell out of playing point-n-click games a long time ago, but really enjoyed Primordia when I finally played it a couple years back. I might have to pick up Shardlight directly so WadjetEye gets more of my dollars.

Very cool. Dual mouse isn't something that I will use personally, but the DOSBox staging crew have been doing excellent work. Much appreciation for those folks.

Interesting. I will wait for a Borderlands 3 bundle that includes all the DLC. 2K seem to be going for confusing names (Super Deluxe vs Ultimate) to snag people who don't do any research.

Patience is a superpower.

The best Linux distribution for gaming in 2023

Quoting: CatKillerI'm not going to argue for a different distro - the reasons for recommending Ubuntu (sensible release cadence, well-supported, lots of users so lots of available information) are exactly right - but I will suggest a different flavour of Ubuntu [External Link] since the Ubuntu website does a terrible job of letting people know that that's a thing that exists. The KDE flavour (Kubuntu [External Link] is going to seem more familiar to a new user coming from Windows than vanilla Ubuntu's Gnome. It's all the same software and updates, but using the KDE Plasma desktop environment (like the Deck does) rather than the Gnome desktop environment.
Agree with this. For anyone who isn't a complete computer-klutz, KDE is better than Gnome. There is a reason Valve chose it for the Deck.

SteamOS and Steam Deck on top for Linux in the Steam Hardware Survey

Quoting: no_information_hereAs I have been complaining forever, Valve could easily take the data from live Steam client connections. They really have daily information of the base OS for every single user. It wouldn't have the hardware detail, but the OS statistics would be a 100% sample of logged-in users. Not sure why they don't.
Valve know what OS each customer is using. Sharing that information with third parties without specific consent is a privacy violation.
While I agree with your sentiment, this doesn't seem to be realistic in the current day and age. They already share all kinds of data on what games people are buying and their daily active players. I haven't combed through the TOU agreements, but I suspect there is some kind of thing that says "we will use your anonymized aggregated data and you will shut up and buy our games."

Quoting: ArtenValve dont have actual data about all, because every month only subset of their user is in survey.

Speaking as a Canadian, I quite enjoyed his, um, tribute, to my country.
Haha. It sounded exactly like how I sing the anthem!
