DOSBox Staging 0.79.0 is out now

I am super thankful for DosBox Staging since we use it for old business software. None of the audio/graphics upgrades matter to me since I don't use it for gaming, but I am very glad there is still an active dev community!

Quoting: deathxxxWhat exactly does this om games? NVAPI
I couldn't remember, too. I found this from a previous Liam article:

"NVAPI is NVIDIA Corporation's core software development kit that allows access to NVIDIA GPUs and drivers on all Windows platforms. NVAPI provides support for categories of operations that range beyond the scope of those found in familiar graphics APIs such as DirectX and OpenGL."

Plasma 5.26 Beta brings on the bigscreen experience

Quoting: MarlockThe hard part is not the visual design itself, but the interaction. Big screen interface implies a simplified input (eg: a game controller or even a remote - which might boil down to as little as directional arrows+OK+back+menu+volume-up/down buttons).
I agree. But in the mean time, we got a wireless keyboard with a built-in touchpad for the living room TV computer. It works very well! I hate typing searches into Netflix using a TV remote.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and some reflection on Steam Reviews

Quoting: anewsonsomeone else mentioned InnerSpace to me as an overlooked gem, also Liam really liked it. I'll have to check it out
Someone described it as a flying "walking simulator" which is perhaps a bit unfair, but at least it sets some expectations that it is more about the chill experience than any kind of serious challenge. I like games that craft an interesting world to explore.

Good Article! Under-rated games from my library:

InnerSpace 62%

The Signal From Tölva 70%

There are also a few that I feel are over-rated, but that is more about my taste and not necessarily a reflection on the game (like Shovel Knight).

Axiom Verge 2 lands on Steam with Linux support and Steam Deck Verified

Axiom Verge is one of my favorite metroidvania games. I didn't even know there was a sequel (thanks Epic). Looking quickly at reviews, it seems like it is still good, although the combat might be easier. Has anyone here played it much?

The first point-release for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is now available

I think this also means that KDE Neon will update their base system from 20.04 to 22.04 soon.

Quoting: scaineThe movement looks spectacular. Provided it's not frustrating, this looks like an amazing mix of Dead Cells, Celeste with a hint of Hollow Knight. Very impressed.
I agree!

Nara: Facing Fire inspired by Hollow Knight is live on Kickstarter with Linux support

Looks cool.

"...no special acceleration added to the character..."

Anyone able to explain this to me?

Steam Deck Beta gets Firefox as Flatpak, mentions "future controller hardware revisions"

That said, I would love a Steam Controller 2, please Valve.
Yes please! I live in fear of my Steam Controller dying. There is nothing out there that can stand in its place.
