We started out making a straight Ikari Warriors clone because I stupidly started making an Arcade Cabinet, installed MAME, played Ikari Warriors and never finished the cab... it's still sitting in my office, unpainted, wires hanging out all over the place :)

With a rotary stick like the original Ikari Warriors it would be amazing.
Lol! Know how it is. I've got half a dozen cabs. Was building them for a hobby/job for a while - not those big fugly every-signle-stick-and-button mame cabs, but sleek units with a specific purpose. Fighters only, two player 3 button only, 4-way stick only, trackball + stick etc. Or a small subset like 8-way + 4-way + 3 buttons each + trackball.

Bloody good fun!

I ended up creating a USB run Arch that loads all front-end + roms and configs off USB too [External Link].

This sounds exactly the same as... countless other successful kickstarters.
But it sounds very much like one in particular, just can't remember the name of the game.

Woah.... insta-buy. I felt sure I was watching and hearing the PSX Wipeout 2048 (or Wip3out SE, which is the absolute best of the series. Fight me!)

Editorial: An open letter to Valve on why they should keep on embracing Linux

Quoting: jarhead_hQuite frankly I think that if I were Valve reading that I'd be pretty pissed.
Eh? Not sure why you came to that conclusion. I fully agree with BTRE here, especially the point on taking even a 1-2% cut if a developer does a multiplatform game. Not just to help foster Linux games, but to support a healthy developer community to give them just a little more support for branching out.

Have absolutely no clue why you would think Valve would be "pissed".
That thing where someone projects their own feelings...

I'm just running the full gamut of emotions right now. I've never been pissed off at a developer team before as much as I have Stainless and their troll employees.
Well, they didn't GET the stretch goal, did they? Since it wasn't met, they didn't have to commit to making anything, did they?

Any of our community that went presuming that since they offered as a stretch goal that we'd get it eventually and acted accordingly got PRECISELY what they had coming from Stainless, unfortunately.
Mate, it's the fact that they promised it, then some of their employees went on to troll us about it. That's shitty behaviour, and unbecoming of professionals. That is what pissed us off.

Intel's new discrete GPU will have a focus on Linux gaming

AMD graphics power to power use ratio is way off. One of the primary reasons I won't go AMD even though I want to. Their APU game looks decent though.

So, I'm definitely keen on seeing this new card. Might be something that can give them something of a boost.

Dental FLOSS != OSS. They are two different concepts.

As for their license... LOL!
