Valve puts up Proton 5.13-4 to get Cyberpunk 2077 working on Linux for AMD GPUs

At least they give chance AMD Linux users to play the game, better than a middle finger, and as Pierre said, CDPR gave the game prior release to Valve to adjust everything for Proton, that is a good sign they take LINUX into account, better than the other 90% of companies outthere, including EPIC or the same Google.
Sorry of NVIDIA users but they had thought twice before buying closed source controlled hardware.

Quoting: x_wingIf CDPR would care about Linux we would already have the Linux port of CP2077. I fail to understand why this is so difficult to see and some people prefer to think on artificial/corporation limitations that are limiting them to do the release.Google Speech to text is broken on Chromium, if you report this, you get no answer but "collaborators" on Google forums telling you it is only available for Chrome.

The Steam hate is quite confirmed when the vocal AntiDRM users(very present on this website) are silent in Stadia posts. This is the ultimate DRM level, worst than Denuvo, worst than anything done before.
A service only thinks in first for people who have first world level internet and for some reason wants to add a layer of lag to their gaming experience(guess it does not matter for a single-player game).
I found it kinda amusing people are surprised that private ISP seems to not think about investing in rural areas, it is quite clear they work for profits, no to satisfy coverture areas that aren't that profitable, Stadia is the same, they don't want to get to every gamer in the world, just the riches ones who live in cities with 100MB connections or more.
LOL, GOG articles became somehow scarce, GOG must feel like Taiwan when China started to "donate" money, or Occidental Sahara with Morocco.
BTW some Google services on Chromium are broken, lets see if Stadia joins the broken roster, then Google not giving a damn about it.

Quoting: tmtvlI always heard in politics this thing about the 1% deciding over 99%. And now in video games is happening too, 1% deciding over the rest of the people who doesnt care about VR.Quoting: Comandante Ñoñardoso...maybe....Is a sign that the game We want is coming..Half-Life Alyx 2? Could be in the works I guess.
Valve put their 'Pressure Vessel' container source for Linux games up on GitLab

Quoting: PalancaI think Valve want to launch with Microsoft and Sony their own console.Alyx? Aside from that really small niche of VR players, nobody cares about that game. Would be much better a game that could be played by the resting 99% of the gamers outthere.
Hardware + SteamOS + new version of SteamController + HL:Alyx free.
It would be great. Valve has the big enough resources to Steam to be able to do this. And now, with Proton would be a dream for us see that.
Who knows.
According to a Stadia developer, streamers should be paying publishers and it backfired

Among Us came out in 2018-2019 and it wasnt popular at all, it was another abandonware gathering dust in Steam and Appstore, suddenly some streamers started to play these "full lenght movies" you talk about and the game is now one of the most popular games right now with 300k, if developers are doing nothing against streaming, even most of them are happy for the free publicity they are getting, who are you to complain about it?
Please if you are a developer, please retire, become a doctor, or something else.

Quoting: X6205Honestly, i am suprised that all those gameplay/walkthrough videos are not ilegal. How many people decide to watch gameplay instead of pay for the game and streamer got money from it. WTF? This cannot in any way benefit the publisher/developer. YT and others should at least demonetize these types of videos if not remove them completelly. It's like uploading full a movie. But then.. i call YouTube the biggest warez source :) All those full lenght movies uploaed by random people, full lenght movie/game sountracks or other music albums. And the same appliest for full gameplay (not short reviews).People like you loves to play the devil's advocate, coming with this ridiculous point of view, which has no proof or whatsoever.
IMO YouTube deserves shutdown for years of tolerating ilegal content. But i guess.. DMCA and others are scared of giants like Google. It's easier to bully average joe for downloading movie torrent.

Another clue comes with this, when a dev needs Epic dirty money, it means the game isnt that good to the point the developer does not trust on their possible sales, better going safe with Epic grant than trust your own product. So do not blame if Im not hype for this, better invest in other devs that have guts or trust that their work is good enough.
Left 4 Dead 2 - The Last Stand releases September 24

Issh, sound really cool, but the game needs a better anti-hack system and community moderation including "banning spam", those idiots who kicked you out of the game just because you aren't that good as infected.
Versus is horrible to play unless you have friends on the same match. People are not as friendly as in other games, even CS:GO players seem to be little lambs comparing them with L4D2 players.

You can see the Riverside road signal. So maybe this is just an alternative timeline/route to the Death Toll campaign. Bill surviving will break all the L4D2 story.

I don't want to be that guy, but this "it worked for me straight out of the box" comments IMO are mostly are desperate screams looking to promote a technology thought on just a small base of gamers, not only because the price but because just a few think it could be cool to change the casual way most gamers play, in a couch or a desk when you can stop from playing without detaching anything from your body when you want to go somewhere else.
I can hardly tell something working out of the box when it comes to Linux gaming, even with Proton on Steam, you need to config first the Steamplay, enable Windows games to show on your library, but all these VR guys are trying to downplaying the author of the article claiming they got their VR to work "out of the box" when VR is not officially supported yet on Linux neither by Valve or any other VR company.
Pretty much like the antiDRM folks, the fact VR guys are so vocal in this forum and other forums just show how desperate both groups are to get attention, the first ones because they live in a world when Devs has no rights to protect their IPs from pirates, the second ones because they want to shove their way to play games down our throats.
I'm glad the article warns possible buyers of the hassle of VR, not quite ready to work out of the box on Linux, instead of being misled by the hype of those who are desperate to have more games for their VR devices.
